A new version of the driver update software Drive The Life has been released, and it is now called Driver Talent. Whereas the previous versions were free, there is a paid Pro version of Driver Talent. Until the end of the year, you can upgrade to the Pro version for free, from within the software. From Neowin Driver Talent is one of the best driver update programs in my opinion, and I've been using it (as Drive The Life) for many years. Where possible, it finds drivers released by your computer manufacturer, instead of finding the most recent ones from the device manufacturers. But, you can select any found driver update and change what driver version that will be installed, even to an older driver than is currently installed if you want.
Thanks for posting that roger-m. I only recently discovered " Drive The Life " after wasting a morning searching for missing drivers on a Samsung . I searched a few forums to look for better solutions. Drive The Life did the biz in minutes .... great tool ... ... free upgrade ? .... even better !
I had a blue screen with Driver Talent during the update. Then, no ways to restore drivers for the free version, you need to buy one license. Bad experience for me.
@Ashanta You should be able to rollback drivers using Device Manager. Also, the upgrade to Driver Talent Pro (which can restore driver backups) is free.
@Nutty Kutchie I suggest trying a different email address. I've had no issues activating on two PCs with the email address I usually use.

Tried Diver Talent Pro for first time y'day. It started downloading MiniThunderPlatform.exe into its Program FIles folder. Is this normal behaviour? The download was quarantined as malware, but finding it bit weird. Any thoughts please?
It is used for downloading the driver updates: However, it's worth considering that Malwarebytes found that the Chinese version of Driver Talent, Drive The Life came bundled with a rootkit (I'm not sure if it still comes with a rootkit). https://blog.malwarebytes.com/threat-analysis/2017/03/helpdetectwz-chinese-backdoor-drivers/ This only affected the Chinese language version, not the English language one and the publisher of Driver Talent confirmed in an email that it is safe. But, it's something to bear in mind. A much better choice in my opinion is Wise Driver Care. There is a free version, but the paid pro version is very often available as a giveaway. In the last year or so, it's been doing much better at finding driver updates than Driver Talent. Wise Driver Care was only released a few months ago, but prior to that I was using the Chinese language version.
