I was hoping so, but no. Same problems on some tools here... already reported to Dan. Difficult to replicate as it relates to remote desktop tools for which you need a license to access the installers. Not at all an issue with non-beta versions of voodooshield.

Okay, unfortunately not solved yet, hope Dan finds the cause.

Over the top install from VS 4.06 beta to VS 4.08 beta, followed by a reboot. So fresh, that Virus Total hasn't seen it, yet. ;)

What is going on with VS? Is it ever going to get straightened out? I am so confused that I just had to drop it - unfortunately, I don't have time to keep messing with it.

Yes. lots of new beta versions lately but with each one Dan is fixing an issue. The thing is you don't have to try to keep up, just stick with 3.59 until the new version is released, no one says you have to try each beta, of course if you do thats your choice. I'm sure the new version once released will be killer.

Dan is a very nice man, would I trust my computer to him?
    Almost like a cult.

Why do all the folks that left or dropped VS beta keep posting here to remind us they gave up and
don't have time to use it.
Move on, if you don't use it, and if your still posting here, my bet is you "do" have the time, and I will leave it right there so as to not
upset anyone's feelings or sensibilities. :gack:
It's like we need reminded at every update posted lol.

Again, just to remind everyone, all of the 4.?? series of releases are BETA's! If you are not interested in testing BETA's and/or don't have the patience to deal with BETA software, do not install or use the BETA's. Stick with the tried and true 3.9. That's exactly what I've done. I continue to use 3.9 and will until the stable version 4 is released. There is nothing that needs "straightened out" if you are sticking with the stable version 3.9. Don't get all worked up or bent out of shape because people are reporting issues with BETA releases. And, there's absolutely no need to drop VS if you stick with 3.9.

All versions after 4.05 will not run on my system even after doing a clean install.

Will keep trying future versions in the hope that this gets fixed.

This is the way I have always felt about beta testing. If you have a low thresh hold of tolerating a certain number of bugs then don't beta test. I always expect a continuous flow of bugs being discovered for at least 4 months after the release of a major update. Usually after 4 months most of the bugs that affect stability, and functionality have been worked out. You may start to expect a stable release around that time, or later.

For those that choose to sacrifice their time to help develop a better product, then just hang in there, it will get much better. Also I would like to say, thank you for sacrificing your time to help the community out!
