    Windows Firewall Control v.5.0.0.0

    Change log:
    - New: Connections Log contains now an "Auto refresh on open" check box which will automatically trigger Refresh when the window is opened.
    - New: Connections Log contains now an "Auto receive updates" check box which will automatically add the newest entries on top of the list. More info can be found in the user manual.
    - New: Main Panel displays now the currently connected location of Windows Firewall.
    - New: Added "Open the website" functionality in the About tab.
    - Fixed: Duplicate notifications may be displayed if the location of Windows Firewall changes after WFC service start-up and there are rules defined for specific locations.
    - Fixed: Merge rules functionality from Rules Panel does create the merged rule, but does not remove anymore the old rules.
    - Fixed: Import policy displays a successful operation result, even if the import has failed due to a file access denied error.
    - Fixed: Refresh does not work anymore in Connections Log after using the search. The window must be closed and reopened to be able to refresh again the data grid.
    - Fixed: Some group names from Windows 10 are not recognized.
    - Fixed: 'mDNS' keyword is not valid in Properties dialog as local port when opening such an inbound rule for UDP protocol.
    - Updated: The user manual was updated with new screenshots and updated topics.

    Updated translation strings:
    039 = Open the website
    041 = Press on the lock icon to unlock
    422 = The file is not accessible or has an invalid format!

    New translation strings:
    028 = Connected to location
    060 = Refresh settings
    061 = Auto refresh on open
    062 = Auto receive updates

    It means that during the compilation of the source code into an executable by the developer (the executable is the program that you eventually download and run), there were errors and the compiler did not finished its job, leading to missing parts in the resulting executable.

    V.5.0.0.0 was thus a corrupted exe file, and another compiler run, producing V.5.0.0.1, corrected the error.

    One suggestion - since we are now at V5, the file should rename wfc5setup.exe instead.

    Does WFC have Self Protection. Seems funny that I can Exit or End task so easy without some objection.

    I missed that. I will update the filename in the next release.
    There is no self protection. The firewall rules are applied by Windows Firewall anyway. When you exit the system tray icon you just close a configuration interface, the firewall rules are still active. If you have administrative privileges you could disable WFC service which actually does some work, but in this case, you could disable Windows Firewall itself. If a malware gains administrative privileges on your computer (usually allowed by the user when the UAC prompt is displayed), closing WFC should be your last concern.
    I really hate programs that can't be stopped by the user. I can make WFC unstoppable, but this is a bad practice and gives a very poor user experience. If more users will vote for this, I could implement something in this direction, but I never thought that this is a feature that is really needed.
    Which window is displayed twice ? If you are talking about the installer, it supports multiple instances and can be launched multiple times. If you are referring to another window, like Main Panel when you double click on the system tray icon, I can't reproduce this. Do you use WFC in a virtual machine ?

    Hmm, I always look for Self Protection. Kinda think all AVs offer process tamper & terminate protection.
    Kinda think most security software offers process tamper & terminate protection.
    Maybe, I'm wrong thinking WFC is security software.
    I dislike programs that offer no self protection, that casually turn off.
    I think Service should be protected. And I'd like to see advisory dialog for Exit.
    Just me. Just saying.

    To me, it seems that this application gives that default message even if it can't connect to the Internet. If no Internet connection available, it just says you have the latest version since it couldn't find anything new. Like SHvFl suggested, try with your connection disconnected. From Connections Log it seems that the process is really blocked based on the block rule. Do you see it in the recently allowed connections ?

    Thanks. I'll try to remember message may be erroneous.
    And I'll try to remember to check Recently allowed.
    Recently allowed confirms no activity. @alexandrud Thanks
