but have you gotten the meaning of Unsecured Trim and Secure Trim ?
do they wipe byte by byte wipe a ssd drive? or they send a fast command to wipe command and it wipes the drive in few seconds?
    thanks

    mantra,

Unsecure Trim works fine and takes 10 seconds per SSD. (Three SSDs)

If I choose Secure Trim I get "Linux reports this operation is unavailable or has been disabled". That's OK. I wouldn't use it anyway.

Edit... As Support mentioned, you can also Trim individual partitions and Free Space outside partitions with PartWork. PartWork is available in IFL boot disk, IFL in Linux, BIBM and PartWork for UEFI.

    mantra,

I have Intel and SanDisk SSDs. I bought the SanDisk ones (eBay special) for my test computer and they work fine although one doesn't support DRAT. The Intel ones are a little faster on benchmarking.

    mantra,

If you can't see "Unsecure Trim" in the PartWork menu I suggest you report this in your TeraByte thread.

    This refers to Unsecure Trim...

IFL. PartWork. select the drive, Wipe Entire Drive. In the Wipe Pattern window I have a "Linux Discard" choice. Then two options, Discard (Unsecure Trim) or Secure Discard (Secure Trim).

BIBM. Partition Work, select the drive, BIOS (direct) Bus, Wipe Entire Drive, Hardware, I then saw a message regarding "Drive is Frozen-Hardware Reset Required". I clicked Cancel as I didn't want to power cycle the SSD.

You mentioned IFW. There is no Unsecure Trim in IFW.

    Under a bushel ...
May go ahead and buy the whole bundle now (including BIBM), especially after some recent unexpected behaviour from Reflect.

Why does Image for Windows warn that Windows "fast startup" is enabled?
