I don't see that as a win for Apple. Plus, weren't all of the stolen celebrity photos the result of hacked Apple accounts?

Yes, but I'm not sure if that was caused by a security vulnerability or simply by using weak passwords (e.g. 12345).

True, but like with most things it puts the issue on the end user. That's why security and privacy are not platform issues for me and do not factor into me buying either Android or iOS. Which I guess was the point I was trying to make. I buy what I buy for the reasons I mentioned previously because if there is a security or privacy fail it is most likely on me.

I have an iPhone 6 Plus and an Ipad 2 Air, and I also have an HTC Nexus 9 running 7.1.1 Nougat, and i must say I like my two IOS devices better especially after the IOS 11 Update.:)

I wouldn-t call ourselves power users but most tech folks like a bit of customization and tinkering with the phone. I own an iPhone currently because i received it as a gift a couple of years ago, i almost changed the phone but a jailbreak was released and i-ve been a happy camper since then.
I really do want to update to iOS 11 but ill have to wait a year or more for a jailbreak to be released, if it ever happens. So im not risking it.

However if i am forced to update the OS due to app compatibility issues or something like that, im switching back to Android immediately. No hesitation. Im going straight to Samsung which is my preferred brand.
