Vorsprung durch text. Here's a review of Calligra Suite, graphic art and office suite by KDE, covering installation and setup, basic Words and Sheets use, and many problems including a sluggish, counterintuive interface, ODT and DOCX file format support issues, crashes, other quirks, and more. Not meant to be. Explore if you will.

Let's hope Calligra 3.x is better.

Calligra Suite (using 3.01) does not suit me either for many of the same reasons. Sheets? Its initial layout is worse than Words. Better hope you don't have external links to other spreadsheets. Pretty much unusable at least for my purposes. Not being able to save/export to MS Office formats is perhaps the biggest fault. Until it can do that it's not worth the effort of trying to learn it.
