    @Rasheed187

Don't have any data for speed on Pale Moon 27. One of the main complaints from users is
that not all websites are going to load with the same speed when using Pale Moon, and a few
    may not load at all.
It could be how websites are coded than the actual functioning of the browser.

Another concern is a number of Firefox extensions that don't work and one can find more
info on the PM forum and their own add-ons site for replacements/alternatives.

NOTE: Ghacks.net did some performance tests on 32 and 64-bit browsers that included Pale Moon
32 and 64-bit versions (25.8.1) but that version is outdated and no longer supported.

I've been using Waterfox because I need many extensions, and I read that development for it will and the use of extensions will continue.

I switched from Chrome to Firefox because of the addons (plus the configurable UI), then from Firefox to Cyberfox because of the UI problems, and now Cyberfox to Waterfox because I read that development for the former will stop.

If the web extensions will allow for addons like Downthemall, Flashgot, uBlock Origin, Noscript, various privacy protectors and cookie controllers, video sniffers and downloaders, and more, plus bring back more configurable options for the UI plus the option to remove various browser features that I don't need, then I move back to Firefox. Otherwise, I'll switch to other forks until I find a better browser.

FWIW, these are the add-ons which I'm using with FF57 Nightly (needless to say that they are all webextensions). Note that uB0 and uMatrix are the versions from the developer channel on their AMO sites. Noscript will be ready for FF57. I don't know about download managers as I don't use them. The already available webextensions are here.

I count myself lucky as I haven't come across a site that doesn't load properly and every extension that i used in Firefox works in Palemoon. As for speed ,there are so many variables that can affect this ,such as your Internet provider ,traffic shaping ,pipe lining, network values, that I don't even consider browser speed tests very important these days.

Thanks. I use DL managers because they are very helpful in downloading multiple files linked in a page and streaming videos. I saw some among the web extensions so some of them might be helpful. That leaves the equivalent of a Classic Theme Restorer, which is probably the main reason why I switched from Chrome to Firefox.

Edit: Apparently, the transition is not as easy as I thought. I could not find similar or better alternatives to NoSquint (with grey background), vertical toolbars, DownthemAll, Flashgot, and others.

Have quickly checked it out, didn't notice any problems with websites, speed was also good. Not bad overall, but I didn't notice any advantages over FF. And the "Classic Theme Restorer" extension wasn't compatible, so that was the deal breaker.

Classic Theme Restorer extension was designed to restore features and designs that Mozilla
removed when they launched the "Australis interface " in Firefox 29.
Pale Moon browser did not adopt the code for the Australis user interface so there is no
    need for CTR extension.

The Pale Moon dev mentioned back in April 2017 there would be 2 browsers planned for
    development.

The newer one will look like Australis, but it will support XUL
The newer one will support Mozilla's flavor of WebExtensions in addition to the other
    extension types.

As @KeyPerLife said there is no need for that extension in Palemoon.

Starts faster, runs faster, less privacy issues, no telemetry.

The only problem with Palemoon (for myself) is that some extensions are not compatible. I worked around that by using older versions of a trio of them.
The upcoming "web extensions" will make Mozilla's addons page redundant eventually. I downloaded the .xpi files of my favourite ones for manual install.

Been using pale moon myself for quite a while. And i concur with previous replies in regard to palemoon. My chosen extensions work just fine. And as a point of note in regard to firefox,i was unpleasantly surprised to find that 80% of the complete themes are totally unusable ...palemoon does not have this issue as all themes work perfectly.

Because of this thread, I tried Vivaldi and really like it. It's fast, easy to customize and overall quite satisfactory for me. It will be a great replacement for FF if and when I leave it due to extensions. Thanks for bringing Vivaldi to my attention, razorboy!

My bad, I meant Tab Mix Plus, which also isn't compatible. I always put tabs on bottom, otherwise a browser is useless to me.

Yes, it did feel fast and seemed to use a bit less RAM, but I didn't test it long enough. And yes, perhaps the new type of FF extensions will also automatically work in Pale Moon.

I thought the new Web Extensions would make it easy to develop extensions that work in all or most browsers. But I just read that Mozilla is considering to ramp up telemetry/spying in new versions, without the ability to opt-out, so perhaps I will some day switch to Pale Moon, who knows.

Only if those browsers support webextensions (like Chromium-based browsers).
This is completey wrong. Opt-out is included (although I would prefer opt-in), and it's not about spying on users as they are planning to use Differential Privacy.

According to Pale Moon addons page "Tab Mix Plus" was fixed.

    https://addons.palemoon.org/incompatible/

NOTE: Scroll down to FIXED list. (Version 0.5.0.3 compatible with Pale Moon 27.0 to 27.*)

Sorry to me it's spying. And I just read that Web Extensions will not be supported in Pale Moon, I wonder why.

When I try to install via the FF extensions site I can't, but it did work via the Pale Moon site, is this normal?

    Will Pale Moon support WebExtensions?

Pale Moon (as an application) will likely never support WebExtensions, even if we would switch to a
platform that technically supports its use, because:

What a bummer, I don't see the logic behind it. Soon, all or most extension developers will switch to the new format, so you will end up with outdated extensions on Pale Moon, I think they should make the switch.
