Okay, dumb question. I'm running the latest Comodo firewall, with firewall at proactive. Since CCAV also has a sandbox, can the two softwares be run together? I know it's a stupid question, but we are talking about Comodo.
I like to see different settings in CFW set up against this particular virus in some sort of order, such as reducing restrictions levels all the way to maybe disable sandbox and see if the HIPS could corral that thing without too much leftovers, or at worse a takeover. The CFW containment is an extremely formidable component in CFW 10. I been testing it on my own Windows 10.
they can run together, but you have to disable one sandbox. by the way, i dont see any reason to run cfw with ccav
Really, I don't either except it's something new to play with for awhile. Doubtless in a month I'll be back with Comodo firewall. I remove it periodically for something else but always return. Comodo firewall and sandbox just work.
i used to use cfw too, but it's a while that i have switched to ccav + tinywall and i'm very happy with this configuration. Very lightweight, very secure and not bloated
I might take a look at Tinywall. I've read the threads here on it but haven't taken the step to download and try it.
Last I heard CS said she had gotten some reports from folks who follow her CFW videos, but had not tested or fully confirmed, but perhaps she has since I last heard...?
Hi Guys! The issue that came to my attention was that there were occasional issues with Windows Updates in Win10 for those that had WF disabled. If you have no issues like that, it really does not matter if WF is enabled or disabled (unless you have specific Rules built into WF, but God knows why anyone would want to do that!).
if you don't try new apps often, you just need a while to whitelist the apps that have to connect to the internet, then everything will run smoothly
TinyWall by default is deny for executables - and this includes all legitimate forward-facing Internet apps. You have to whitelist them or add them to TW to allow them to run.
But Secure Shopping now is only for payed version ? It worked time ago, but now it doesn't work. I tried to repair it, to uninstall, clean and reinstall CIS, but it doesn't want run.

Are you saying that I can have windows 10 firewall on my windows 10 64-bit with comodo firewall-both enabled, how is this possible, how is possible and how can both Windows 10 firewall and Comodo firewall on windows 10 64-bit work together even without any problems and delays?
Yeah, exactly The best practice is to have Windows Firewall disabled (by control panel), but Windows Firewall Service (MpsSvc) enabled (as auto start) By the way, I have come back to Comodo Firewall after trying CCAV and VoodooShield. CCAV slowed down both Windows startup and internet browsing, while VoodooShield had too many false positives
CCAV is a modified version of the old Norton's for some of us. Gums up the smooth operation of the system way too much IMO. CFW10 however not so much and definitely not if used strictly with @cruelsister settings alone.
How do you enable MpSvc without getting disabled-since you said Windows Firewall is disabled. And can Comodo Firewall Pro work with Panda USB vaccine on windows 10 Pro 64-bit? I have one question to all posters here: Aren't you all scared every time Windows 10 Pro 64-bit both updates and upgrades that you will have major conflicts with Comodo Firewall Pro, or Comodo Internet Security or CCAV-whatever you use from Comodo as well as with any other 3rd party sofware on your computer?
You can first disable Windows Firewall by control panel --> System and Security--> Windows Firewall. Then you can check if the service is working by typing services.msc in Windows search bar / Cortana and scroll down to Windows Firewall. The service and the firewall are two different things. To make things simple, the service prepares your PC to work with Windows Firewall, but then is up to you whether to use it or not. If the service is off, your PC even doesn't know that there is a Windows Firewall I think there's no problem Yeah, that's a risk to mess up the PC. But now it seems that Comodo team is making some RC versions where they test their products with Windows Insider Builds. Furthermore, after Kaspersky's complain with Microsoft, Microsoft said they will give more time to 3rd party Security Companies to test their Security Products before Microsoft makes a public release
Cool- 1). when considering if you can run WF with another firewall without issue you have to consider what protection the firewalls actually provide. A firewall can provide (with respect to the local system) either Intrinsic protection (alerting or stopping stuff from getting out) or Extrinsic protection (stopping stuff from getting in). As Extrinsic protection is essentially nothing but setting up default Rules, having two such Firewalls enabled would provide nothing but overlap and wouldn't affect system performance at all. One thing to note about WF on Win10 is this- previously having WF disabled would prevent the manual checking for Windows Updates on some systems (getting a Server couldn't be reached error); this has been resolved with the last Win10 update (can't understand why no one even talked about this...). Anyway, just like having WD active when using CF, having WF enabled when using CF is fine. Shutting them down just isn't worth the effort. 2). About how CF will act on updated Windows 10 builds- Comodo does not react to every beta build of the Windows OS publicly, nor should they. They are in the exact same boat as any other security company- with any major OS build change problems will only show up on the actual wide release. It's only by then judging how a company will deal with issues that pop up (if any) that one should be concerned. In other words, don't prejudge.
