As by title: I'm looking for some report, experience about it. It uses Chrome and Trident, and I don't like the idea of having Trident, I wonder if it inherits IE's bugs and vulnerabilities.

I have just give it a quick look and I am not impressed t all.

    1. First drawback, it wants to install Visual Basic 2012, eventhough it is already installed, but fine, you just have to select Repair.
    2. It feels very laggy and slow.
    3. It crashed within 5 minutes, I have not seen a browser crash in years.
    4. It claims to have over 20 extensions inbuilt, I have not been able to find any of them, Extensions tab shows nothing.
    5. It can not be uninstalled.

I would expect, from a browser in version 8 to be mature, it is far from it. The proclaimed garbage collector? Well, the only garbage is the browser.

EDIT: For crying out loud, it can not be even uninstalled. I hope, that my uninstaller will get rid of all its files. :cautious:

Hello. I am the developer of Polarity and sorry for the inconvenience. I understand that the uninstaller does have issues and we are working on that and testing it on multiple machines. So far the only difficulty that the uninstaller ran in to is when processes associated with Polarity like polarity.exe, polarityaddonhelper.exe, etc... did not close and that could be checked via Task Manager.

    2) Still working on lag issues (.NET is slow as hell but stuck with it for now).
    3) Also working on stability issues and the stack trace for these crashes could usually be found in the Event Viewer.
    4) The built in functionality is found inside the settings applet. The wording is confusing and I will be changing that.
    5) The uninstaller may have some issues, but so far it has been working on Windows 10 64-bit with full administrator access.

If you have any more feedback for the browser, do not hesitate to report them. I am constantly trying to improve the browser over time and it can be quite difficult for a solo project.

Thanks for the input. Glad to hear some devs care about their products. Looking forward for an improved version and sorry for harsh review. :doubt:

That is totally understandable. It is very frustrating for a piece of software to not work when you want it. Also to answer the Trident engine question, it is simply a tab that utilizes the Trident engine instead of Blink which could be opened by right clicking the new tab button. The Trident engine is isolated from the other tabs in the browser so it would not affect regular tabs utilizing Blink.

Thank you for the answer. Why the choice to use two engines ?

The reason why two engines are used since there are some websites, although not many, that still require a rendering engine to load more older technologies like ActiveX.

It is not possible to use, because it simply doesn't work. And after all, it is from previous century. Even adblock not possible to use. This one, which is built in, doesn't work any way. No favorites editing, only change name or delete. Nothing more. Never don't know, when crashes or freezes.

Hello and sorry for the inconvenience. The adblock does work within the browser and it must be enabled within the settings applet under the "Advanced" Tab. Favorites editing (where you can edit the url also) will be coming soon.

Also if you won't mind, reporting the websites where Polarity crashes and freezes would be helpful. Thank you.

it may be prudent for you to sort out the uninstaller because from what i can gather from this thred,it will be used far more than the actual browser.:cautious:
