Why would you pay for such an app? And I don't really care that CCleaner has been bought by Avast, the current version works just fine. I do believe that the Piriform team should be worried, what often happens is that some of them will eventually get laid off.

Because its program deactivator, makes my computer run noticeably faster.

Yes it works fine now but future changes to other software may make it breaking things. I remember incompatibility with Chrome after Chrome update few years ago.

Would not Autoruns take care of that?

It certainly would, but I prefer to use AVG TuneUp to do it. I guess I'm too lazy, to spend the time to use Autoruns lol.

I am wondering if Avast's move has been due to wanting Piriform's expertise in terms of Cloud-deployed cleaning solutions as CCleaner Cloud (formerly Agomo) is a pretty neat solution for those that like their Cloud-based applications.:isay:

    "Hi guys,

It's Vlk from Avast and the Avast forums... I just came here to say that there is really no need to worry. We love CCleaner and the community aspect of it, and we're definitely not planning to make any changes that could jeopardize it.

    Let's stay in touch."

Politician speak!^^^^^^^...."Not planning to" doesn't mean "we will not"

I really wish no one acquired CCleaner. I use it all the time. I've been using it for many years. So many good products get acquired, and you never see them again, or many unwanted changes are made to them.

I find this kinda cute off the blog in his statement about both
"Moreover, both CCleaner and Avast are known for their innovative and lightweight products."

Avast was lightweight a long time ago!!

It's just another bid to make people owning lifetime Lic forced to yearly. I dump each and every one of those. Only one who has not done this yet is Malwarbytes.

In my experience, it is one of the lightest antiviruses there is. I'm only talking about system impact, and not RAM of disk space used, as I never take any notice of that.

Second time seeing this nag screen after 15 times run. The first time was after 5 runs. I wonder how many more times I'll see it. :(
