No. However, the EIS firewall defaults are identical to the Windows Firewall defaults in that regard. So it isn't much of a difference between the two.

Has anyone else w/an EIS license received an EAM key when requested via email support? I req. one two days ago and I ain't got nothing yet. Probably busy, right?

Either that or your email provider is blocking our emails or put them into your spam folder, which unfortunately happens quite a lot. If you PM me your email address, I can check.

Yes, I think you're right and I'm being a little impatient. I'll wait my turn.

Edit: Yes, turns out I sent my request to the wrong dept. No wonder.

How can you have waited "a couple of days" if the announcement is only about 48 hours old? Would you mind sending me your email address so I can check?

I have once again read the article, and can you perhaps explain how the outbound access control works of the BB? And does it only alert about suspicious outgoing requests, or does it alert about every single app that connects out?

So we can request a key earlier instead of waiting for Oct 1st?

Yes, Trooper, apparently so. I sent a request to support@emsisoft and received a new EAM key in exchange for the EIS just a little while ago.

Cool. Did they add on the additional time to your license as per their announcement earlier this week?

Yes, they did, in proportion to the amount of time I had left on my EIS key (50% of that then added on) :)

That just indicates EIS was developed "modular" and not as part of one integrated product - or such issues would not occur. Glad to know you're now streamlining your code (after so many years?).

EIS should say EAM, balls to the wall with malwarebytes.
What gets me, malwarebytes didn't have a chance now who-knows?

Windows Firewall alone or Windows Firewall with BiniSoft WFC.

Actually, no. Firewalls never let a connection happen in the first place. The behaviour blocker needs to have the connection happen, to see what the application does with it. It is a conflict in principle and has nothing to do with implementation details.

We only block network interactions that we deem suspicious. What that entails is not open to public (or even private) debate. The resulting behaviour alerts are spyware, backdoor, downloader and mass mailer.

Fabian do you think Comodo firewall plays well with EAM?

I'm using EAM with cf10@cs_config, but only for about 1 week. I'm not having any issues on win7_64. cs_config is proactive with HIPS off, run it for sandbox aka containment. Interested if Fabian has an opinion.

The only way is to test it out. EAM has a lot of incompatibilities with a lot of other security applications. For example, a lot of products that also do hooking like Avast or Kaspersky will render the system completely unusable when installed alongside EAM, causing every process to crap out with an access violation when trying to start them. You are better off with something that is just a firewall if you really think you need one. GlassWire seems nice for example.

    @Fabian Wosar

In view of the fact that Emsisoft is "pulling the rug out from under" EMIS users, perhaps it might be appropriate for Emsisoft to develop a list of firewalls and/or firewall controllers that are compatible with EAM.

Does EAM hook into WFP, or is it only the firewall in EMIS that does so?

An answer to the above seems would be helpful in view of the fact that @Fabian Wosar has stated that [using WFP] "It's the only way to attribute traffic to applications and apps properly in any Windows versions since Vista." IMHO somewhat perplexing/confusing in deciding upon an app to check on outgoing connections if EAM uses WFP.
