The behavior blocker auto-resolve was on their roadmap. I remember Fabian mentioning something about it some time ago. Basically, the new settings appear to be a refinement of the settings instead of a complete do-over.

The user is still going to have the option to make a decision (or make a decision depending upon your point of view) or just go with the flow and let Emsisoft do the recommended action. I just saw it in action during an NVidia driver update. The fly-out alert presents and I had to Allow - because, of course, it was safe. Had I not responded, the file would have been auto-quarantined.

If it defaults to auto-resolve, I will still reset it to alert.

 

An auto-resolve alert is very much a BB alert - much the same as the big BB alert. In the auto-resolve alert the user can allow or just let Emsisoft auto-resolve (I suppose using the best recommended action).

They made it nice for users, but you know some will complain my safe file got auto-quarantined even .though the users can allow within the auto-resolve alert.

Darn good suite I use to protect my personal systems along with AppGuard.

Agreed. As a matter of interest, do you use HMPA also? S'pose not.

 

I agree. It's just great for me also.
I'm a little hesitant to install it on my family computer, because of BB alerts during updates of some software. OTOH I got those messages because I was early updater and after few days new programs were whitelisted in cloud and didn't create BB alerts any more. So I'm not sure if any alerts would happen on that computer with regular usage.

While I was using EAM I've had BB alerts on three occasions.
Once BB showed prompt while Macrium Reflect was updating and two times when new version of Tor Browser was installed. Of course I allowed legitimate programs running, but if that happened to my family members they would probably block it (or call me).
After a while (a day or two) Tor files were recognized as trusted and I'm sure that Macrium Reflect installation process was whitelisted also.

I am currently trying out EIS again. Do you have your software setup to alert for everything or quarantine and alert? I assume it is personal preference.

 

I think you still get discounts no matter where you are. The only thing that changes is the price of the product itself. Depending on the market the price may vary.

 

I did not see any discounts but it is all good. Testing EIS at the moment. By the way Noob, you may want to change your sig.

 

You will not get a discount in the first year, select a two year or three year license to see if you get any discount.
Second year renewal should give you a 25% discount.

Question to those who have been running it for a long time. Ok to be stand alone or should I run something else alongside it?

 

It's ok run stand alone. Personally, I have VoodooShield running alongside it.

Should be able to attest for the efficiency of the product. He says that when he test malware, Emsisoft is always the first to catch it among his security products.
(Is this still the correct, Peter?)

i use it on and off but my laptop doesn't like it as it spikes CPU up to 65 -70% for no reason and never new why . I think you should use something like Zemana or MBAM free just to double check once in a while .

 

Good to know. For now I am just going to use EIS. I don't do any "risky" stuff on my home machine.

Emsisoft support is probably the best out there.
I still remember a couple of years back when i had an issue with EAM. They worked on my single issue for around two weeks or a bit more until it was fixed. They released like 2 or 3 builds while i kept sending them the dump files during that time. Since then, i knew it was a keeper.

running EIS now so far so good. Seems lighter to me now and i see no cpu spikes anymore . I might install Zemana although i do not feel it is even necessary

 

Off topic, but that has been the case for me using BullGuard.

 

With new auto-resolve feature I think I will install it on my family computer. Forensic log will also help me if something goes wrong. Nice work Emsisoft
