All these 'free trials' that start harassing you to upgrade almost immediately. I just installed KS 2018 and got a screen popup box about 4 hours later, telling me I needed to register then under it was a 'please consider upgrade' below that. I tend not to have patience with this - back off and be quiet for a while and let me learn about your product and keep the harassment to a minimum please. Same for the ones that offer a 'free' version of their paid item - non-stop harassment even though you told me it was free.
Free AV lists premium product modules. They simply are unactivated. I feel its fair to offer consumers a choice. They are not nagged to upgrade if they don't want.
You can disable the upgrade prompts in Panda free, although you do need to register it using your email address. Tencent PC Manager has no advertising.
untick all these , but it will show notifications for upgrade once you get 15 days remaining of the trial, once per day
instant uninstall > no crying > happy again, simple as that. kaspersky notice every install and claim gain - dont gave them yours.
That's the paid version. There is nothing to untick on the free version... the license shows 361 days remaining.
Not needed. You can install the KAF without registration. If you have no idea what you doing, blame yourself, not the AV.
Note 2: Kaspersky Free Antivirus requires that you create a Kaspersky portal account. Account creation is optional. https://www.ghacks.net/2017/07/26/kaspersky-free-antivirus-worldwide-roll-out-begins/ in comments:
If I have a 30-day trial , don't start in on me on day 1 and keep it up every single day, some days more than once. I've uninstalled software like that - IOS app/game trials as well. An IOS racing game from the other day comes to mind - new install and I had not even gotten to the actual game yet and I was presented with a screen ' would you like to purchase 1,000 whatevers for $9.99 USD now?' Seriously? Didn't even bother - if it is going to pound on me that soon then in the trash it goes.
yeah with what I've been reading don't think I feel too comfortable with it on my system really anyway.
the major point is that Eugene is crying a lot about microsoft behavior concerning kernel updates and orders a legal punishment. now kaspersky announce free antivirus for all - ha ha. and as written (not only here) kaspersky tracks your surf behavior, contact data, i think they spy at users like other free antivirus are doing - avira and avast to mention first. not sure if they bother with ads to buy full version but i think they will do. i dont have doubt that kaspersky is a really good software but at least they all wnat money and if kaspersky pointed out one thing in the past - give us your money we dont care the rest. in special the support could be better and in special the firefox extensions are a crap - and always too late (medium 2 weeks). for a paid software i expect more - and not only kaspersky to notice. its ok to test it out, but no more.
Of course Kaspersky would like you to upgrade if you can afford it. But you're not being forced to do it. I haven't seen a nag screen or a sales pitch in the software telling me I MUST upgrade and I appreciate it.
I uninstalled the free VPN which I don't need. Ironically enough, its going to be banned soon under Russian law.
