No. I'm running KAV for AV, NVT ERP as an anti-exe, MalwareBytes AE for exploit protection and AppCheck for AR. Along with SRP, I have a solid protection net on my PC.

Ahh gotcha. Sorry I thought you were talking about the OS itself. I could likely do something like that for my home setup, but I can't run all that at my job.

    Wait, what is AppCheck?

Korean anti-ransomware. I replaced Kaspersky Anti-Ransomware with it because its not compatible with KAV.

Thanks for that. Funny you should mention about Kaspersky Anti-Ransomware not being compatible with KAV. Just found this out a few minutes ago myself.

For me, I am currently running EIS at home. Need to figure out at some point if that is enough or I need something else. I am curious however about the Kaspersky Anti-Ransomware and maybe even AppCheck (for my job).

    Cheers.

They're both free. AppCheck Pro can be had for a small price.

It should certainly work on your Surface Book!
As pointed out above, it is now 'ready for business', so little point in waiting for bug fixes. (It appears from @anon's link, that MS have dropped CBB terminology, though that still appears in WU Settings in Win 10 Pro).

Give it another go, else use MCT, and disable security softs, unplug any USBs ...

I was also wondering that as well. Given that LTSB (which is being re-branded as Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC)) only receives security and bug patches and not features, would the new WD and EMET be considered security updates or new features? I'm sure enterprises wouldn't mind the additional security however, they may not receive them if those additions are considered feature updates and not security.

Good question. LTSB is designed for mission-critical stability so nothing breaks critical corporate environment uptime. The only real question is whether the coming security updates for the next Windows build are going to be backported to 1607? We'll see.

Current Servicing Channel versions are supported for 6 months before the next build with an extended service life of 2 years. Long Term Servicing Channel are supported for 3 years before the next build with an extended service life of 10 years.

    Hi @paulderdash

    Not beaten, yet!

I have had problems with Windows Update. So I am trying, something else. - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3159635/windows-10-update-assistant.

However prior to this I was offered the Creators update again, but something went wrong. It had downloaded, and it had started preparing to install, as per this screenshot:

    Windows Updates_Version 1703_install_01.JPG

But, next thing that was gone, and I then got this:

    Windows Updates_Version 1703_install_02.JPG

Then I got a warning from VS, but I didn't understand it, so didn't allow:

    Windows Updates_Version 1703_install_03.JPG

    Then these two screenshots:

    Windows Updates_Version 1703_install_04.JPG >>>> Windows Updates_Version 1703_install_05.JPG

Tarnak, after downloading finishes, comes verifying (quickly done), and updating process that takes a while. Then reboot, takes a while also. I think you should and should have disabled VS, other security programs before you started the update.

Leave it like that, it happened to me at 95%, and then at about 9%, it went to verifying and all was well.

    Dont stop it

If I had anything scanning/monitoring real time, I probably would uninstall it before upgrading.

What you experienced is exactly what I experienced. I said what happened when I saw the downloading back at 0%? and before I knew it, when it was back at 9%, the downloading part was over. And the process moved to the next part (Verifying the Download).

It is counting down from 30 minutes, and started about 5 minutes ago... My Surface Book is on the charger, too. So, I will go with the countdown, and it should start to install in about 25 minutes.

You dont have to wait, click Restart......and pray.

After clicking Restart, it took about and hour and 10 minutes for baby chicken to crack the shell. Very smooth.

No, I think I"ll wait...I am going to have a coffee... I have disabled VS, and turned off Windows Firewall. It could take sometime to see if it installs, successfully. ;)
