I am posting this in a last desperate attempt to retrieve data from the past 15 years of my life!

    What Happen:
I plugged in my external drive one day and Windows gave me an error that the drive needed to be formatted. Long story short, I did a quick format.

I had a truecrypted partition on the drive with the remaining space being allocated as a windows drive partition. I have tried the "restore header" tactic as mentioned in some other threads but to no success. At this point I have pretty much given up as I tried several recovery software with no success.

Is this a lost case or has anyone seen any success in this matter? I would greatly appreciate any help!
I realize truecrypt is long gone now but this is a drive which I really only access time to time. I was not expecting something like this to happen :(
