Both KB4035510 and KB4035509 are available by manual download only,
and are useful only if one needs to fix a very specific issue:

I want to do a new and clean installation of Seven ( SP!, 64 BIT ): so, for the Windows updates, the only way is to run the WU until 2016 and from October download the Security Only Quality Update ( I use only them nad I use very useful MISTER X links here :thumb: ), there is not a faster way ?

The information in my July 2, 2016 post, that you referred to, is outdated.
I think you need Microsoft's instructions in "Windows Update is taking an unusually long time to scan and install updates".
    N.B.
If KB3020369 is already installed, you can follow the instructions to install KB3172605.
If KB3020369 is not yet installed, follow the instructions to install first KB3020369 and then KB3172605.

After you install KB3020369 (prerequisite) and then KB3172605 (update rollup thru april 2016), then all you need after that, to fix the slow updating problem, is the July 2016 Update Rollup which you can download here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...or-windows-7-sp1-and-windows-server-2008-r2-s

After you install that, Win Updates will work quickly and normally from that point forward...

Er... KB3172605 is not the April 2016 rollup, KB3172605 is the July 2016 rollup.
Microsoft's instructions in "Windows Update is taking an unusually long time to scan and install updates", which I referred to in my previous post, mention both KB3020369 and KB3172605.
Did you overlook my previous post?

Ok, sorry Stupendous Man. I didn't read much. I just remembered how I've done a clean install many times. The Prerequisite KB first (369 I think), and then the very large Update Rollup thru April of 2016, and then finally the July Update Rollup. That worked every time for me. The one that fixes the slow/broken update checking is the July Update Rollup. So whatever the appropriate KB's are, that's what works.... sorry if I misled anyone with the wrong KB numbers...

Please don't worry, Kerodo, I don't think you misled anyone. :)
But that Windows Update issue can be so tricky, that's why I always try to keep the confusion level as low as possible. And that means not to mix up KB-numbers. ;)

Yep, I remember having to read thru countless threads on different forums some time ago just to pinpoint the facts and get the real solutions.... Keeping the confusion level down is a good idea indeed.. :)

    Thank You!

It was no longer possible to connect to Microsoft update servers using Microsoft's internal updater so I tried installing the updates manually. I downloaded Microsoft's Rollup updates from Microsoft, and tried many times to install them manually. I tried all day, and was only able to get two of them to install.

I contacted Microsoft, and the highest level of tech support tried the entire day to install the rollup updates. They were only able to get two of them to install. The two they managed to install caused multiple critical errors. That obviously was not going to be acceptable to anyone.

Btw.. this was a year ago, and I think they may have fixed the problem now. It's too late though because I already upgraded my license, and they want allow you to revert your license back to Windows 7 once you upgrade to Windows 10. I couldn't wait around for months for them to fix the problem. I had to have my machines for work, and school.
