When I wrote the above wording, I thought that it's redundancy to add a smiley. It's not a bug, it's a feature. Is it clear now?
Good morning. Well we asked in our dev. dept. and they are working on a redesign of our detection mode starting in July. So as soon as development is done we will roll-out an update with "interactive" again. Stay tuned.

The VDF History webpage is dead for days. https://www.avira.com/en/support-vdf-history Who knows if and when will update again.
I had this infection which was captured by Avira .TR/Decep.SmartSystemCare.azmiq Trojan. Probably not related to the windows update issue. Never the less I restored my computer from an image and have installed further windows updates without an issue.
The entire world at risk: Avira takes a stand against the “Bundestrojaner” https://www.avira.com/en/press-details/nid/1156/news/avira-warnt-vor-bundestrojaner
yes but what mr. witteveen means here is that they will not co-operate with german authorities by ignoring state-sponsored trojans detected in endusers' systems, unlike some vendors and like few others.
“Any software which attempts to use system exploits or vulnerabilities in order to infect our customers’ devices will be immediately identified, disabled and removed” – Travis Witteveen, Avira Chief Executive Officer Hhm, that statement does not include "Bundestrojaner", that are installed using social engineering. I'm quite certain, that ordinary police will have no access to exploits. Exploits are to rare, to use against ordinary criminals.
What? Are you alluding to people watching what I'm doing? If so, who cares? I surf the Internet, read some forums, download the odd thing. No one would care what I'm doing and I don't care if they know what I'm doing. Avira certainly isn't going to stop that, just like any other free AV isn't going to either.
