Using WIndows 10 I'm having some issues with not being able to whitelist windows mail. I've tried white listing via .exe, window and i've also tried the autolearning mode. Is there someone on here that can enlighten me as what i'm doing wrong? Or what i need to do in order to ensure my email's not being blocked? Thanks
You can whitelist an application with TW ny right clicking whitelist by window on the application and it will automatically add it to the list of allowed applications. If that doesn't work, you'll have to go into TW and whitelist the particular application you want to allow to run. TW is set to deny by default but you can create exceptions to the rule for Internet forward-facing applications.
That's what i'm saying. I'm trying to make exceptions. I make an exception for windows mail and it doesn't work.
Windows Mail can't synchronize folders This applies to Windows 10 while outbound filtering is enabled in Windows Firewall. 1. To allow the Windows Mail application to connect and synchronize your email accounts, you must create an outbound rule for svchost.exe. 2. To send an email you have to create an outbound rule for C:\program files\windowsapps\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_17.6002.42251.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\hxmail.exe 3. To be able to add a Google account you have to create an outbound rule for C:\windows\systemapps\microsoft.accountscontrol_cw5n1h2txyewy\accountscontrolhost.exe and one for C:\windows\system32\authhost.exe. I've been trying that. It didn't work. it works for other applications but not windows mail for some reason.
I am sure you can set up a normal mail client rule with no problems. About those metro apps, I have no knowledge. About Steam games, I remember ultim posting something in his quite latest posts. There could be some problems in normal mode. Maybe as you noticed TinyWall is not really the right firewall for you. It is for me as I am not a gamer or heavy program installer in general.
