I have a long history of using Firefox and have never had issues with crashes. Since both the Ff and Windows updates arrived this week I've had a number of crashes. Before I start incrementally disabling extensions, I figured I'd see if anyone else is experiencing this. Thank you!

While I have not experienced any crashing issues with FF 53.0.3 (32X), the update did not go as smoothly as it usually does.

On Restart, some of my extensions were not enabled, including the sidebar and my favorite extension "Roomy Bookmarks Toolbar." In addition, there was a screen asking for permission to install an extension I did not recognize.

This was not due to an incompatability of the missing extensions.

I did a restore from a Moz Backup of my last FF 53.0.2 version and that cured it all, i.e., I am using FF 53.0.3 with all my former extensions working.

So bottom line appears to be that there was something unusual about the implementation of the update to FF 53.0.3.

In the recent past I have had occaisional FF freeze-ups, but those were website specific.

Have you tried downloading a clean version of FF 53.0.3 and doing an update do-over/reinstall?

Both my OS and FF v54b9 are up to date and running, not a single crash.

There is no problem. You need to look for the cause from your computer. It should be there.

Thank you all for the replies! I have been submitting the crash reports as they occur. Nothing thus far today out of the ordinary, however, my wife had Ff freeze last evening, although I did not investigate whether Ff or the site was responsible as I just used Task Manager to get her going again!

That's why I'm running CF - ESR is well-tested and only security and bugfixes are released.

    I have no regrets.

USA still the best. But barely.
Extension Quick Java was slowing some page loads to a crawl. Uninstalled much better now. I'd try disabling ext 1 by 1.

    I can't sign in to Malwaretips.com with FF v53.0.3. No problem with v52.x. Running Win 10 Pro 64-bit v1703 (build 15063.296)

    Anyone has this problem? Thanks

I get tired of FF's rapid release cycle and with releasing a new version, every couple of weeks... you sometimes you get bugs.

On my long term Windows, the only thing that made sense was to install ESR. Installed Business version of Google Chrome, which is more or less the the same thing on the Chrome side.

Nice stability and no crashes. Just a browser that works.

Its much slower and more predictable in updates than the regular Chrome build. That makes it suitable for enterprise deployment where you don't want software to break things.

    Downtime is not good.

I'm not currently having any issues, bu when I do, they are usually resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in the advanced settings page.

I'm running x64 Firefox v53.0.3 and the latest W10 release. I've used Ff for at least a dozen years and one thing has not improved, i.e. there are still many sites that don't render properly, e.g. over lapping text. Is there anyway to clean this up or is it 100% on the website? Thank you!

I do use Theme Font & Size Changer 53! Also, relative to the crashing issue, it was all on Sandboxie. Beta version 5.19.4 has resolved the issue! Thank you!
