itman, Thanks for sending that to me. I'll check it out. :)
The computer successfully goes to sleep after 45 minutes of no activity, and can be awakened by moving the mouse or shuts down after 2 hours.

Now that you bring this up, i've been experiencing some problems with the sleep function too. Most of the times it fails to go into sleep mode and sometimes it wakes up by itself. Never thought it could be EIS.

I have extended the time before the display shuts off to an hour so I can walk away from the computer for a longer period of time rather than have Sleep Mode. Hopefully the guys at Emsisoft will be able to replicate the problem some time soon and fix it.
I notice you are using Online Armor, a predecessor to EIS. Could it be this problem has migrated from an older version? If so, is that a clue Fabian?

Im no longer using OA. Currently using EIS only and EIS has a completely new FW module so i dont think it is related to OA.

Looking at your signature I see you're using EIS and Comodo firewall. Can you use 2 firewalls together, or are you using them alternatively?

Need to change it, i used Comodo Firewall for its HIPS and virtual sandbox feature but i ended up removing it. I had the firewall disabled.

My subscription to Emsisoft is fixing to end. I decided to try Avast for few days to see if I liked it. I decided to go back to Emsisoft. I downloaded and installed Emsisoft but instead of using my key, which should have a few days left, I chose "trial" and it gave me one.

Should that have happened? I cannot recall if I ever had a trial on this computer installation - possibly I did not. Or could you do a trail after a trial? I am not trying to cheat Emsisoft, just curious how the trial works - seems it would be limited, no?

We do reset trials with every new major version release. So even if you had a trial before, since version 10 was released you would have been eligible for a new one.

I suggest you take a look at this more up to date thread concerning version 12 of their product.

I have used EIS in the past, ok but "boring." Like to tweak a little more than EIS permits...

You have to install bitdefender first then comodo firewall.

yes thanks for that reminder, I forgot. I have BDIS2017 on 1 pc, BD free on another. I'd rather try EAM with CF on this win7 but wanted to get some feedback before I try the install.

Had EAM installed then installed CF with CS settings using win10 latest....all worked fine except when it was time to reboot....I did reboot ok but could not open CF....just could not open the program.....I saw similar issues on the Mal Tips forum...a couple of the members had the same issue....removed EAM and now have CF, 360 Total Security (not Essentials), HMP.Alert, and all is ok...

yes, installed EAM and seeing something similar perhaps, unsure still testing. I disabled self-protection in EAM to see if that helps although there could be a downside to that
