I see ;). We can probably do that at some point, but we will need probably 10 million users to do something like that (just a guess). Mainly because we will need 100+ users responding to the exact same file. I think some of the big AV companies already do this because they have enough users to be able to do this without bad results. For example, if one person responded to one file, and it was the incorrect response, that would be bad! But if we have 100+ users and 97%+ (or so) had the same response, we would be able to do something with this. Thank you!

Hehehe, guys... about the Ai... yeah, VoodooAi is ABSOLUTELY true artificial intelligence. VoodooAi utilizes some of the absolute best platforms and algorithms in the entire industry (Azure and Watson)... which is why we detected WannaCry, when half of the "next gen" companies missed them... yeah, yeah, they utilize killer platforms and algos too... which is why I am still on shock that half of them missed WannaCry. Trust me, it was a duck ;).

What SHvFl meant to say is that there is currently no such thing as Artificial General Intelligence... and we are a LONG, LONG way off from that. And even then, in my opinion it is not going to help much with malware analysis anyway... for the exact same reason that human malware analyst are not perfect and make mistakes... AGI will as well. I could be completely wrong about that though... it is fun to think about, just in case AGI models are developed soon.

Nothing to add, @VoodooShield Dan, we really appreciate your dedication and your software :thumb:
After using VoodooShield myself for some time now I will install it on the laptops of my 2 kids in auto pilot mode together with EAM.

Hi Dan...I'm not so fine as earlier (you know...health is sometime surprising) but from time to time I try to spy Wilders forum and your app :) it's nice to see your good work in developing VS...keep it up :thumb:

Very nice way to point that out Dan, a global whitelist while cool, would be too heavily relied on I think
and become a focal point of Malware authors maybe ?
Besides Dan we don't want to level the playing field that much :)

A layered security is always good, but may I ask you why you add EAM to VS?
I mean, VS should be enough for protection... the only missing features are scanning and cleaning option, which you don't need if you don't get infected.

I have an active subscription for Emsisoft Anti-Malware. and as you say layered security is good. If I or my kids make a mistake when answering a VoodooShield prompt I hope EAM saves us.

Also, Dan speaks highly of Emsisoft. He even recommends it to complement VS. :)

VS is for default-deny, while EAM/EIS is for monitoring what has been launched (by the user or by the system). :)

I have a question about VS - have looked for answer but have not found it yet. VS flags Firefox.exe when I try to get on the Internet. And, even tho I allow it each time, it continues to flag it again next try. Is there a way to stop this?

It just goes ahead and allows it - but next time I try to use Firefox, it does not remember it has been allowed and stops it again. It indicates the file is not digitally signed.

Is it still suggested to leave Ai sensitivity to balanced and not paranoid for the machine learning?

In basic settings do you have deny by default - Uncheck to show prompt instead a balloon unchecked?

That was checked - will uncheck it and see if it helps. Thanks.

Update - I unchecked it and it doesn't seem to help. Thanks for trying. Got to shut my pc down for now - tornadoes in the area and I'm headed for the bathtub in the interior of the house (no storm shelter), just in case.....gee, I hate this time of year in Oklahoma.

Subsequent update. Well, I survived the weather and found a solution for my problem - so all is well. Thanks for the help.

Can VS hold up against CIA instrusions?
    http://thehackernews.com/2017/05/athena-cia-windows-hacking.html
I don't always believe in these stories but it wouldn't surprise me with what CIA and NSA can do.

Btw, although i did not note the reasons VS wanted to block some Windows 7 updates, it happened to me yesterday during a re-installation process.
But this would be subject matter for another thread i guess.

I noticed that many members here disable VS when doing Os installation/re installation. Though not necessary it seems somehow recommended/preferred.
