Internet connection work without this service 100,00%.
Workstation service is need for if have more from 2 pc in one network (ex. Internet Coffee or Club) for transfer files or similar data. I work more 15 years (from XP to 10) with this service disabled.
I have disabled 30 service and no have problem and system is fast. If is need service this then make this stop and set manual then restart pc and when need service will start and when not use then self stop.

No argument to that and appreciate the confirming for the benefit of others who might have reservations OR better yet don't have the ready-time to always SEARCH for particular SERVICE details.

So that it's clearly understood. :thumb:

It's crazy how Microsoft adds and stuffs additional services in each major release in an effort to make things more efficient (for them? For User?)

Yes that's true. Each new release brings more services, tasks and other behind-the-scene activities.
"Less is more" is definitely not their policy.
