I have HMP set to scan on system start and the the last scan it did was on the morning of 25 April - 5 days ago.
I had the same problem that @CyberGhosT reported in post #7600 where beta 286 unbeknown to me had installed itself when run from the desktop (and no, I didn't get a message asking if I wanted to install it). When I next switched the computer on it reinstalled bld 284 and HMP.A also rolled things back to the time I first ran beta 286 so I lost all the photo editing and document work I had done the evening. Once I realised what had happened I uninstalled HMP.A.
It has now been a month since Eric last posted on these Forum, there are problems completing scans etc - there is something not right and if anyone thinks otherwise they need to take a reality check.

I wonder if we're going to get a big surprise with the products shortly. Not good to speculate but the neglect and silence is a little deafening, right? I can't imagine new builds taking all this time every day, around the clock. Must be Sophos-related.

The problem with the context-menu was mentioned on the 04. April in this forum, and only 2 days later they have fixed it and released a beta (digital signature: 06. April)
I'm not sure why it takes so long to declare it as a stable version, so all users are auto-updating to this version and have a working context-menu

    Yup, LOL!!! :argh:

But much more likely that something is wrong with some regional DNS servers this weekend, or some cloud service ... maybe Sophos forgot to pay some internet billso_O

I think that is the only thing that could explain why some areas can reach, but not others.

Maybe this is a clue to the puzzle:

Posted by hawki in HMPA Thread a few hours ago:

    RE: HMPA

"There will be a slight delay in the delivery of your license key. We are in the process of correcting this technical issue which may include waiting for information from the software publisher. This should be resolved within 1-2 workdays... We will contact you via email as soon as further information is available." o_O?"

A communications problem between Cleverbridge and Sophos/HitMan Bros. - Sophos not responding to the call.

hawki has bought many licenses online during his days and NEVER before has seen anything like this -- not even with Digital River. Cleverbridge has been nothing but 100% reliable. Something (or someone) appears to be down at Sophos.

hawki not happy sending wampum and not receiving what he paid for (yet).

Yeah, I was thinking new builds, but it's more thought-provoking if a new version doesn't materialize. The more time that goes by, the less likely it seems there's a benign explanation, like everyone's on vacation at the same time. :cautious: The dedication and personal care the Lomans always gave to HitmanPro/Alert are lacking--makes you wonder if everything is now in Sophos' hands, like a transition.

Yes, uncharacteristic - and concerning. Hope you're wrong :(.

Edit: I don't see any posts by Erik on this or the HMPA thread since March 31?

Right, wrong, I was publicly voicing a thought that probably occurred to many--long before me. Hope it's not-or will be-the case! I subscribed to HitmanPro/Alert. Not Sophos.

Nice detective work, Inspector hawki.

What a relief. So why isn't he fixing the context menu scan that got broken one month ago?

They most likely are fixing it, but for me it is too late, I have moved on and employed alternate solutions.
I don't hate them, but I don't pay money to software vendors for this type of response time and they know this,
they know what an approach like this will lead to, they are not stupid, they have been in and around the industry
    too long not to know.
I am not comfortable watching "what was" one of my favorite solutions go down the road they have taken.
When the almighty dollar rules the day, and you sell to the likes of Sophos this becomes the reality of decisions made,
no two ways about it. Mark my words and watch where SurfRight is in just 2 to 3 short years from now and remember,
we didn't do that, they did.
A blind man living in a shoe box could see where this is going to lead, and it's well on it's way sadly.

    Thanks very much, Erik.
HitmanPro 3.7.20.286 Beta was tested since April 20, by several users.
And several users have asked what is the reason it takes so long for this version to be released as stable.
