I have been trying to install Chrome and continuously receive error messages. Also this..."Since you are on a Chromebook, you don't need to download Chrome. You will always have the most updated version automagically. Enjoy! " Interesting as I have never had Chrome installed. What might be going on?
Do you have a Chromebook? Then it will update automatically. Chrome OS is the only operating system that runs on it - and its a cloud OS. Hope that helps.
Thanks for getting back Norm. That is the thing; I don't have Chromebook. I am trying to install Google Earth and in doing so saw they now want Chrome installed. Why would I receive my above notification if I have never installed anything Chrome and not even sure what Chromebook is, although it would take a moment to learn
Google Earth has a thing now where you can launch it right in the Chrome browser instead of using the Earth application itself. Probably that is why they want you to install Chrome, however, I would assume that there has to be a version of Google Earth that doesn't ask to install Chrome. A couple of days ago when I launched Google Earth a box popped up saying that I could launch Earth in the browser now, tried, wouldn't let me do it, said my video card wasn't capable or something like that. My version of Google Earth still works fine though, maybe there is a box to untick to not install Chrome as not everyone wants Chrome..
Thanks for getting back digmor crusher( sounds like a gold miner )Today I went back to the same sites I tried yesterday and was able to install without issue. Too strange. Too Web. Too computer. As far as $oogle looking to force one to use more of their stuff, well I suppose that would be fair considering $oogle Earth is their product.
