"President-elect Donald Trump formally named two staunch opponents of net neutrality to oversee his policies for the agency that created the rules to prevent discrimination against Internet sites and online services.

Jeff Eisenach, an economist who has been on Verizon's payroll, and Mark Jamison, who formerly worked on Sprint's lobbying team and now heads the University of Florida's Public Utility Research Center, on Monday were named to Trump's "agency landing team" for the Federal Communications Commission..."

"...In an Oct. 21 blog post, Mark Jamison, who on Monday was named one of two members of Trump's tech policy transition team, laid out his ideal vision for the government's role in telecommunications, concluding there is little need for the agency [The FCC] to exist..."

The FCC's Vote on approving "net neutrality" was 3-2, with Democrats voting in favor and Republicans against.

Democrat Jessica Rosenworcel may have to leave at the end of December. Republicans, since June of 2015, have been refusing to act on her re-nomination. Thus, she will llikely be replaced by a President Trump, likely swinging the balance in favor of Republican's who are against net neutrality.

While the current Charman Wheeler's term expires in 2018, a President Trump is free to appoint another Commissioner as Chairman.

Thus, next year the FCC will have a Republican Majority and Chairman. (only three of the five Commissioners can be of the same political Party as The President.)

All Presidential appointments to the FCC, including the promotion of a sitting Commissioner to Chairman must be approved by The U.S. Senate.

The End of Net Neutrality -- and So IT Begins:

"The nation’s top telecommunications regulator [FCC Chairman Ajit Pai] on Wednesday unveiled a plan to dismantle the tough net neutrality rules for online traffic that Democrats pushed through in 2015 over the objections of major Internet service providers...

Pai said on Wednesday that he had sent a proposal to his fellow commissioners that would repeal that regulatory oversight as well as the agency’s vague general conduct standard, which sought to protect Internet users from future unreasonably discriminatory practices...

The Republican-controlled agency is expected to vote next month to open a formal process to repeal the rules, seeking public comment on how to ensure net neutrality without what Pai called “the overhang of heavy-handed regulation...”

Chairman Pai's speach of today is here at 18:00.

Net neutrality rules took away your Internet freedom, FCC chair claims

Hmm, Pai's explanation is clearly attempting to "control the narrative" - and if we all buy in to that, we should all invest in buying the Brooklyn bridge when it comes up for sale, eh?

That's fascinating. The D.C. Circuit has been sitting on this for months waiting to hear what President Elect and now President Trump's selection of an FCC Chairman had to say on net neutrality.

From Pai's standpoint his laughable spin is the proverbial "Putting lipstick on a pig." His path is now a much tougher road.

The D.C. Circuit has a low level of tolerance for idealogues.

Kudos to The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals for it's upside-the-head to Pai !!

Me thinks that the fact that Judge Merrick Garland, President Obama's final Supreme Court nominee who Senator Mitch McConnel would not even allow a confirmation hearing on, is the Chief Judge of The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, was at least in the back of the minds of the deciding judges. "Lack of respect for this Court, heh?" SLAP -- POW !! Wowser !
