    Right. Less spectacularly, this will be a major issue for lifestyle-based health insurance and employment. Consider how it went down for tobacco use. If you don't get enough aerobic exercise, your insurance costs more. Ditto for driving behavior and insurance rates. I'm not arguing that it's unacceptable. But how to handle refuseniks will be crucial. Do they get the mean rate, or the highest default rate?

    Bypassing that is easy just get a home trainer (a old school one without electronics) and make a machine that fakes a heartbeat and shakes the machine as if you'd be using that home trainer.
    Vuala sitting on the couch watching TV and eating ice cream by the pound and what the world things is you are doing sport on your home trainer and watching TV.

    You'd think that people would be more aware, and take into account that they're wearing tracking devices.

    And damn, why does a Garmin GPS smartwatch need to upload location data? All it needs for knowing location is downloading data from GPS satellites. And can't you turn off the uploads?
