I can't seem to provide the proper search criteria to find the answer to what I'm trying to do. I know I've seen the answer numerous times, but I am unable to remember where or what the answer is. Right now, I've got the "My Documents" folder at the top of the directory under "Desktop" and the "My Documents" directory is expanded which I'd like to have collapsed when I go to Windows Explorer. Also, I'd rather have "My Computer" listed after "Desktop" and "My Documents" listed after "My Computer". Using XP Home with the SP2 update installed. Could you help me out with this trivial matter o_O Thanks.

I dn remember this very well, but I think you need "Tweak UI" powertoy from MS. The order can also be changed from it, but a word of caution - the cool features (200+) that it provides are unsupported by MS and they're not responsible for what u do to your own PC.

Click Start, point to Programs, then Accessories, then right–click Windows Explorer, and click Properties.

Under Target field, which reads %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe, add to make the line read %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n, /e, /select, C:\

    Click OK

Thanks to both of you. I have Tweak UI. Didn't know you could change the order with it. I may try both suggestions out.

I was able to get Tweak UI to do half the job and now "My Computer" is listed before "My Documents". I am not sure how to collapse the "My Documents" directory so that it will remain collapsed when I exit Windows Explorer and then go into it again. The "My Documents" directory is always expandedo_O

    nod32_9,

What will the change in the Target field do to the order or what will it allow me to do after the change of the Target field?

yeah, tweak UI has its own problems, which is why MS won't support it. I think nod's method is far cleaner (I don't do registry tweaking anymore)
Maybe u guys should try out X-Setup, its url used to be http://www.xteq.com but I think it will give you another link now for "XQDC X-Setup Pro"...which is still free for personal use and I think that you will find more tweaking at "LockerGnome" community (sorry, I don't remember url) which used to be associated with X-Setup.
    Note http://www.x-setup.net - they've got a forum too.
G'luck, and remember to take registry backups at all times (there's a thread for this on wilder's).
