I downloaded the latest version 1.4.0.665 from the Shadow Defender website but I'm getting a 7-zip error when trying to run the installer on my 32-bit Windows XP system. The System Requirements for this latest version say that Windows XP is still supported.

Anyone else had this problem on a Windows XP system?

EDIT: I've now tried extracting all the files from the self-extracting archive setup file then running the Setup.exe installer from within the extracted Setup_x86 folder, but I get an error saying that the installer is not a valid Win32 application. I imagine this is the reason for the 7-zip error when running the self-extracting installer. I'm now thinking this may be more to do with my system being 32-bit than the OS version. It looks like the 32-bit version of the installer is corrupt.

If i look at setup.exe and the other executables with Exeinfo PE or PEStudio, the OS-version is showing 6.0. This is higher than the OS-version of XP (=5.1)
It seems that the new version is without XP-support :doubt:

For users of XP there is now an additional "Windows XP/2003 Installation Package" available on the website.
    It was published today.

Oh goody! -- our school still has quite a few XP PCs humming along very nicely (with SD's protection). My thanks to mood & Patrick.

I just put some very heavy pushing of multiple security apps and unleashed some of the most fiercest malware and ransomware i think I ever crammed on Shadow Defender tonight.

Became a little concerned on reboot because the screen was not loading so I pulled the plug killing connection entirely and restarted.

It came right back on as expected and smelling like a new rose :thumb:

Seen that DELAY after a Shadow Session once before but it's normal when you load it up like that. I LOVE THIS THING!!! :)

Hi Easter, I love Shadow Defender too, I'm still an XP er and am in Shadow Mode most of the time these days and also have thrown a lot at Shadow Defender over the years. I 'come up for air' every three or four days and start afresh. Using Shadow Defender, Sandboxie and a couple of anti virus (one on demand) I feel quite safe. it's great that Tony is still supporting XP users.
It's nice to see you on the forum, your posts always cheer me up. :)

Always a joy smod to find you addressing peeps issues and helping them with this excellent program.

Since it has been quite awhile since I run any tests with Shadow Defender I just had to see if it still had what it takes to deal with Ransomwares, and especially the MBR scramblers.

It went off without a hitch however rattled the nerves a bit with the delay. I always conduct a hard shutdown if the delay seems too long and it always so far results very well in a clean slate after that. :thumb:

I had already set that to 1000 after seeing the warning and it still gives a warning. I could untick that warning in setting but that would not solve my issue.
I sent an email to support so we will see.

It is like changing the setting to 1000 didn't take effect or something.

I don't use the write cache. When I am shadowed I always figured I exceed that anyway so why bother

Just noticed a nother problem. When I try exit shadow mode and reboot. it hangs. Going to see if that is new malwarbytes beta. Also I am installing the new insider update that came out today first to see if it was broke and now fixed.
