Thanks, that works for now. I guess blocking adds will be an never ending battle between websites and adblockers. I don't mind adds as long as they do not interfere with the content, cause slowdowns or just plain distract you.

Yes it's so freaking annoying. But those sites can go to hell, I now also see that forbes.com has implemented an anti-ad blocker. I have decided to simply not visit those sites anymore, I hope others will follow.

For those that may have had trouble with AllMusic, I've found that blocking inline scripts removes the obnoxious 'Support AllMusic' message.

Can anyone help me the questions I posted in regards to the NYT issue? Or is this not really the place to ask?

You have to create exception rules.
I visited the website, looked at the dom-entries in the logger:
    nyt_cosmetic-filter_.png

    nyt_cosmetic-filter_ublock.png
and with the help of https://adblockplus.org/en/filters (Exception rules) i have created these exceptions:
    Code:
    nytimes.com#@#.twitter-sharetool
    nytimes.com#@#.show-all-sharetool
    nytimes.com#@#.facebook-sharetool
    nytimes.com#@##sharetools-masthead
    Now it looks like this:
    nyt_cosmetic-filter_exceptions.png

The last exception-rule above is showing the bookmark-button. (after clicking on it i can see: "Log in to save ...")

Looks like the website found a cure for this. The block no longer works as a work-around for adblocker detection. Argh, it didn't take long for them to "fix" that.:'(. The script kiddies are probably reading this thread.:D

Okay, thanks. Is there a good method in finding the correct entry to block so I can resolve future problems like this without asking everytime?

I did manage by trial and error and got rid of the pop-up by allowing doubleclick.net, but your solution is better.

If you go to either http://structuresofa.com/ or http://puzzlingfall.com/
You will see they show the same content on their page. Looking at the
names, it looks like these domains might be dynamically created so the
website can just pick a new one. IPInfo shows GOOGLE-CLOUD as the
Network Name when entering the ip addrs of the above sites.

In the case of The Windows Club (and some other sites), I just allow the ads ($'s for them) but in other cases of course one wants to 'defeat' the anti-ad blocker.

Correct, but Windows Club has a habit of plopping adds throughout the content which in my case is distracting. I don't see how any money is made from the people using adblockers because on top of being annoyed, they are going to ignore the adds anyway. I don't think I have ever purposely clicked on an add or even look at them.

Report these domains to EasyList maintainers, I can see these are being added to EasyList. puzzlingfall[.]com is not in there yet, you should report: https://forums.lanik.us/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=35533

In the case of thewindowsclub you only have to look out for "suspicious" domains in the matrix.
doubleclick,google-domains,disqus are well known but puzzlingfall or structuresofa :cautious:
Seeing XHR-requests in the logger can give you also a clue sometimes.

But sometimes you have to try it out. Allowing/Disallowing domains, refresh the page, and again ... until the ad/popup/overlay has disappeared

same here - reason i have enabled the "experienced user" option

either some is capable to deal with its used extension or uninstall

    the wiki explains it all
    https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki
and this extension has a wiki to read - in most cases some is left alone.

try & error - same for solvemedia & google captchas. enabled by default here since i found out, although cookies are denied.

Any idea how to beat the antiadblock message of this site www.dwrean.net. The site uses a script from blockadblock.com and the only thing i could found is to block inline scripts of the site. I wonder if there is any other way?
