I mean, you can always snag Avira off ebay pretty cheap. $15 or so for a 3 user licence for either AV or IS.
Yup, thanks! But already have 3 Pro AV licenses. Was inquiring about "Avira goes Prime time with its new all-in-one premium subscription service".
Avira's FP strikes once again = -------------------------- Same as before= https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/avira.345492/page-191#post-2650468 https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/avira.345492/page-193#post-2658029 Update: April 08, 2017 = Detection is removed from virus definition file (VDF) with the version: 8.12.162.196 This VDF file was published on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2:50 PM GMT+2
After getting TR/ Agent.ywmai removed from database it is now detecting this variant, what a joke. The pattern of 'TR/Agent.ywmai (Cloud) [TR/Agent.ywmai]' detected in file 'C:\Users\\Desktop\Zemana.AntiMalware.Setup.exe'. Action performed: Move file to quarantine
They also detected my Office setup file. Uploaded to virustotal showed 0/61 detections, including Avira. Lovely.
Has anybody upgraded Win 10 with the Creators Update and checked Avira's functionality? I have uninstalled Avira during the upgrade to avoid any possible problems...
Avira Launcher -> Avira Connect Client Windows Same ****, different names ....... Avira Launcher Connect version 1.2.83.46341 released today. http://www.avira.com/en/download/product/avira-antivirus-pro
This is a joke.. its so easy to fix for avira they simply dont want to fix this fp. its a shame that this happens again and again and again.
I have to ask this, because it seems like common sense to me: You don't set your security software to exclude the others by default? I have ZAL set to not check Avira's folder. I have Avira set to not check ZAL's. When i used MBAM, same thing. I haven't gotten any issues part the first time this happened with Zemana, and that was only because I had forgotten to set the exclusion when it was first installed.
You shouldn't need to. Some people set exclusions to potentially reduce CPU use, or in case actions by another security product are flagged. But Avira should not be detecting Zemana. I've got an antivirus I use for realtime protection as well as a number of on demand scanners and none of them detect each other, so I have no need for exclusions.
Roger, ideally I agree, but it's just a habit because every damn AV/security vendor would harp on it.
That quote "Does Avira offer any deals for Wilders members?" is out of context. Was referring to the new Avira Prime $99.99/year plan. Already have Avira Pro ... https://www.avira.com/en/avira-prime
