Windows 10 Creators Update is now available for non-Insiders to install on your PCs.

Today April 5th, in the morning you could use Windows 10 Update Assistant to download and install the update. However at the time when I've checked, the Microsoft Media Creation Tool hadn't been updated.

Microsoft Media Creation Tool en-ca version has at least been updated to download Windows 10 Creators Update. Anyways the file version should be at least with version 10.0.15063.0.

If you interested, but want to wait for it to arrive through Windows Updates, be expecting it around April 11th or sometime afterwards. Some factors are at play that could cause you to be waiting longer periods.

Those who aren't Interested in Windows 10 Creators Update, you can simply ignore this post. :)

    Regards,
    Phant0m``

Yes, I downloaded the ISO via MCT, created a UFD, installed the 1703 update. Everything worked well, no obvious problems after the installation.

I had issues with this earlier in the week. Gonna wait it out for a bit.

I just used the above link and went ahead with it. Took a little over 20 minutes from start to finish. Now I have build 15063/version 1703. Thanks, I really appreciate it. :)

Edit: Only things so far are that Fast Startup was once again enabled so had to disable it, and an Edge nag-tab intruding in my Internet Explorer. Wish I had a magic wand for that one.

I use MCT only to download the ISO. Then I save the ISO and create the boot UFD using the basic method - format the UFD with FAT32, mount the ISO, copy-paste its contents to the UFD. No other tool required.

For dual booters like me, if you go to the page for the ISO while running Linux, it will just let you download it directly since you can't run the MCT without Windows.

    SirDrexl,

Just curious. In the Sources folder, do you have install.esd or install.wim?

Thanks for the reminder. I hope they are finals. I'm downloading x32 and x64 now.

100% sure. MSDN already released the same build as final.

In my laptop with GPT disk, I just noticed a small change in the size of the Recovery partition. It was increased (now 510 MB), taking space from the OS partition, as has happened in previous cases.

I have a feeling this will made be made free permanently.

Microsoft will make money on the back end. Since Windows is now a service.

    Robin,

Interesting. A resized Recovery partition rather than an extra Recovery partition?

    Brian,

Which was the one we want to use for best experience? The Media Creator Tool downloaded the 'wrong' version last time didn't it?

The MCT creates install.esd which is a compressed install.wim. The final install of Win10 is probably the same. I assume but don't know for certain.

@Brian K MCT created ISO's have install.esd; while the freely available ISO's directly from MS have install.wim

    Thanks.

I'm in no hurry so I might wait for MS to provide an ISO download.

See post #7. I downloaded the ISO and the hash is the same as the Insider Preview.

Yes confirmed. The 15063 Insider Preview ISOs all have the same hashes as the official ISOs listed in MSDN.

And you will get a couple of updates to obtain build 15063.13

I have installed the Windows 10 Creators update. Unfortunately there was an issue with a security software. Way into the second phase and at the end, and it would fail and rollback to my previous Windows install. I wanted to see if this was just a one-time anomaly so I've tried again without making any sort of change and reproduced the failure once more.

Logs had absolutely no indication of foul play by any security software. I've disabled services for both Comodo Firewall and MalwareBytes Free 3.0.6 that I use, and tried again and had success.

I don't know which product was the culprit, could have been the conjunction of the two. My speculation, I had no issues upgrading to Windows 10 Anniversary Update with Comodo installed and functional. At that time I didn't have Malwarebytes installed w/service.

Therefore I speculated that Malwarebytes was the culprit. Perhaps users of Malwarebytes, and users of Comodo might give some feedback about their experiences with the Windows 10 Creators update.

Error experienced ' 0x8007042B - 0x4000D '. If you have this error message, and you user of one of the security products. You might want to look no further for the reason. :p
