I am trying bit defender free.

I see that in product information, it is written :Last update time:"

However, there is no update time shown. Is it a bug. Can anyone else confirm. How will I confirm that this software is updating regularly correctly?

UPDATE : After restart and an automatic update, its shows date and time.

I am getting same issue with BD Free.
On boot, there is a black screen which appears for 30 sec before win splash screen. This is such a major bug and I see BD forum has been flooded with this problem.
I really want to like it because after boot, it is light. If I could not find a solution, then BD got to go. What a waste.

I searched Black on BD forums and lot of users have faced this issue.

    Someone posted exact problem :https://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?/topic/73771-bd-free-beta-slowblack-screen-pc-boot-time/

I think free version definitely needs to incorporate Enable early boot scan feature option.

I am still wondering how all other people are not facing this. I am on very fast PC and SSD. If BD is doing some eary injection before window is booting then it should be problematic for all. BD bugs are surprise in itself.

Bitdefender antivirus Free Edition auto-updated to 1.0.7.4
No changelog, but most likely more compatible with upcoming release windows creators update.

Today I had opportunity to check one of the "random account" BD Free installations. Seemed like everything was fine (been installed for months now).

While I was at it, I also checked the Account tab... and it had checkbox for "Show offers" or similar... It was not there before.

Yes, could be. I did not keep my eye on it :)
However, it's nice that it can be turned off. Big thumbs up to BD!

The BD site claims that the antimalware has improved greatly within BD Free. Am wondering if it is adequate protection or if MBAM Premium is also needed or not. Also would like to know if both running together is putting the HDD at risk of shortening it's lifespan.

I am running Bitfefender Free on one Win 7 computer, with Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Free beta for extra exploit protection on my web browsers. No problems or conflicts with that setup. Light performance too! :thumb:

After 6 months, i uninstalled BD free today, because yesterday after 4 hours working on my computer i found out that BD wasn't working the whole evening after i wanted to scan a folder, scans didn't want to start and webprotection didn't work either,.. all without any warnings ... :doubt:
    switched back to avast free.

My biggest concern is the updates. While doing update, it uses 25% of CPU for quite some time (while scanning the drive to see which files are required to be downloaded).
    Otherwise seems to work OK.

My biggest concern is that updates sometimes don't work at all. Bitdefender should fix it if possible because I don't like warnings from Windows security center. Uninstalled. :(

Are you running MBAM pemium with the real time protection? Any conflicts with the AV real time?
