yes, the first time around, I had similiar issue. It needs .net Framework 4.6. I had 4.5.2. checked with ms and saw the current is 4.6.2, so I went ahead and installed it, but made an image first, then installed protonvpn 0.93 beta, and it installed ok. then said there was an update, 0.94, and I let it update. it's been running ok for me. I like the gui. you have the option to use "secure core" which apparently routes you thru servers in certain countries, iceland and sweden and then from there they route you thru a second vpn server. there's some slowdown, but not too bad. I don't like the fact that you use you same password(s) for vpn that you use for protonmail, but that may change when they come out of beta...?
Thanks for the info , I'll try again . Not crazy about the password setup either , suppose it will change
This is getting to be tool much of a hassle. Created a Prontomail account. then tried logging into the VPN and it shows I don't have a VPN access.
U need more than a protonmail account. something like a "pro" account. That is clearly written on the post from protonmail.
Ah ok that explains it. It is a paid beta. Guess I never heard a of paid to do beta testing before https://malwaretips.com/threads/proton-vpn-beta-new-service-for-plus-protonmail-users.69486/ Glad I installed it in Shadow Defender but mad I created a proton mail account.
I downloaded the free version through my protonmail account now that they are out of beta. Installation without problems but cant connect to any of their servers.. Nice looking gui though..
totally agree about the password. I've asked proton support at least 2x by email and no reply about pw. In the past, during beta, supported replied quickly and helpfully. ??
did you get your issue resolved? currently running v1.0.3 and been very solid here. proton had some issues the first week or so with initial rollout post-beta, (beta had been aok, then when they went public, there were some issues).
I'm not related to proton but good to know. If you have a protonmail account were you directed or "forced" to use your mail password for your vpn? changing the pw in the vpn app was not obvious to me, if it's there, the first time I looked. Both are working good enough that I don't want to muck something up without some direction from proton, but they've been silent on this issue PS protonvpn has some TOR servers, connect and use chrome to go to .onion sites rather then using tor browser (firefox).
