The Web Protection module (aka Avira WebGuard) works in any browser.

Web Protection module scans all the HTTP traffic that goes on your PC and you are protected regardless of the web browser that you use.

it rely on WFP windows filtering Platform
So it could protect any application which are connect to the internet
Also as anon mention.if the network traffic has encryption,Web Protection will not be scan(even unable to that)

No HTTPS scanning with Avira. Confirmed by Avira earlier in this thread.

Emsisoft checks DNS request and blocks requests on that level AFAIK.

HTTPS scanning is not provided due we need to encrypt this traffic which is not wise. So don't worry this is not a security leak cause we check before connecting and after transfer. :)

Plus you can also use a browser extension called uBlock Origin that has a shedload of 3rd party blacklist filters to easily choose from. It covers the lists used by Adblock Plus, Disconnect, plus many, many more. They auto-update too!

That way your browser won't even attempt to connect to any of the sites in the lists. :)

Avira Connect.JPG I was checking Programs and Features on one of my Win 10 machines and found 2 instances of Avira Connect (see attachment) only one could be uninstalled 1.2.81.41506 and the tray icon disappeared with it. Do I have to uninstall the whole thing now?

I have re-installed the whole Avira Pro, and the program came without the Avira Connect which has to be installed separately. Does it mean that now one can operate Avira Pro without Avira Connect? In my previous post I was able to uninstall Connect version 1.2.81.41506 on its own, but 1.2.77.41287 could only be uninstalled after uninstalling Avira Pro... I wish Arthur or somebody from Avira could give us some info about the current state of Avira connect...

Panda security also off some like this one for $6.99 for their whole suite unlimited devices or their antivirus advanced for $2.99 a month.

Still nice to see others doing a monthly services.
