I'm not sure what you mean by "while still saving list of Cookies To Keep." I don't see how that is related to "clear from Utilities list the programs that are no longer installed." If with "clear from Utilities list the programs that are no longer installed" you mean that you uninstalled certain applications, but CCleaner is still showing entries for those applications, and you want to clear those entries from CCleaner, you must manually search your system for remnants of the regarding applications. A good spot to look in, is AppData. Last time I found CCleaner showing entries of uninstalled applications, there were remnants of those applications in AppData, and clearing those, cleared those entries from CCleaner. To find the user's AppData folders, enter %appdata% and then select the Roaming folder. This will get you to AppData\Local, AppData\LocalLow, and AppData\Roaming. Search the AppData folders and subdirectories for remnants of uninstalled applications. Deleting remnants of uninstalled applications from AppData, will probably clear those entries from CCleaner.
I was imagining that CCleaner uninstall would clean out cookies listed with Cookies to Keep. Upon CCleaner reinstall all my Cookies to Keep were back on the left side. So, I was able to move them over to the right and not have to rebuild Cookies to Keep. Okay, I thought I was thorough cleaning AppData remnants. I was wondering if CCleaner has reg keys for added Utilities.
Ah, I understand. Nice that it was as easy as moving cookies from the left side over to the right. Yeah, I thought so too, but with more extensive searching I found remnants in some AppData sub-sub-sub-directory or directories. I do not know of that. Perhaps someone else may know. For me, clearing out AppData a little better helped.
@Stupendous Man Just had light-bulb moment. IIRC, haven't looked thru AppData in my second User account. I'll get back to you. @stapp I'll get back to you too. trying for fun just to see about uninstalled Thanks
To my knowledge, in CCleaner\Cleaner\Applications, CCleaner Free shows application data per user account. AppData items are per user account, also. If there may be some remnants in your second user account's AppData directories, for that second account CCleaner may still detect those applications and show them in CCleaner\Cleaner\Applications. I don't know if this is different in CCleaner Pro.
deleted CCleaner > (App)Acronis TrueImage & (App)Avast! Antivirus in _Users & Current_User upon restart they're back must be Acronis & Avast remnant somewhere? Thanks
Yes, everyday User account looks like seldom used User account same, without 7-Zip No joy, finding Acronis or Avast remnants in either User account. Thanks
Have you checked AppData, for all user accounts separately? And for all user accounts, are you sure you checked all AppData sub-sub-sub-directories? And have you checked for remnants in C:\Program Files C:\Program Files\Common Files C:\Program Files (x86) C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files C:\ProgramData HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node And for all user accounts separately (just like with AppData): HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wow6432Node
I've uninstalled Google Earth because I never use it and have found GE here - HKey_Current_User /Software. Should I just delete these? I don't want to mess something else up in the process. I wish Google would remove all traces of itself when you uninstall their programs. Edit: This is after uninstalling with REVO Unistaller Pro.
Thanks Roger. I was trying to get rid of GE in CCleaner [Cleaner > Applications], but even after deleting those and restarting GE was still in CCleaner.
@bjm_ , Did you ever get to remove those entries from CCleaner? Silly question I'm sure, but did you run the avast uninstaller in Safe Mode?
Hi stapp, I restored an image backup for a clean start. I found how to use REVO Uninstaller Pro's Log database, so tried that but it is still in CCleaner. I just used Ctrl + F > Google Earth on Computer and it found: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER_SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UFH\SHC Inside that is a few Reg keys. They appear to relate to C:\\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Google Earth..... I really don't know my way around the registry.
OK Guys and Gals, You gave me the confidence I needed. I Ctrl + F > Google Earth and deleted every Google Earth find and only Google Earth finds until nothing else was found and yay! GE is no longer showing up in CCleaner. Thanks everybody!
No joy with Acronis or Avast. I'll run avast uninstaller in Safe Mode. Edit: Avast is gone I'll try https://kb.acronis.com/aticleanup Edit: Acronis is gone @Krusty that was fun Thanks!
