I am running latest version Macrium Home V7 And have used latest version Shadow Defender quite a few times And no probs here.

My scenario is C & D partition, C backed up & backups saved on D. And SD, I run with both partition shadowed.
I mostly disable Macrium schedule to run SD But have also tried taking backups with SD running And no probs i.e after system restart, backups created during SD were not there in the destination folder And Macrium continued with the incremental fine i.e no tracking lost, etc... probs........

YK, thanks for your feedback - but here's what I would consider a proper test...

    Make sure CBT is enabled.
Run SD, shadowing C:, but not D: (your backup partition).
Save any (new) 'test file' to your desktop.
    Create incremental & differential images.
    Now restore the incremental image.
Is your test file on the desktop?
    Next, restore the differential image.
Is your test file on the desktop?

    Hi Cruise

I've tested this. If my c: drive is shadowed and the image target d: isn't shadowed, and I restore the image will indeed have everything.

...and I have tested as well. The INC image was done via disk block tracking (disk block changes) and the DIFF was done via disk Cluster changes ("Looking for changes" FileSystem metadata comparison mode).

The answer is YES to both of the above questions...

In addition, with each image MOUNTED under the LIVE OS, the added DeskTop file was also in place in the image.

Pete & Froggie, thanks very much! Therefore as an MR6-Free and SD user I will definitely consider buying MR7 when the 'dust settles' and it's 'ready for prime time' (i.e., it appears to be without other new-version issues).

If my license key starts with a 35 does that mean I would have to pay full price for Version 7?

BoreDog, the 3x series of keys just means that is a v6 license. You can use this UPGRADE PAGE at Macrium to find out what your options are...

...and, please understand... especially if you have no sepcial upgrade price, unless you're doing lots of Incremental imaging between System reSTARTS (the new CBT feature) or are running W10pro and need to BOOT directly into a virtual System (the new included viBOOT feature) with one of your images... at this time there doesn't seem to be any compelling reason to move to v7.

v6 will be supported for at least another year, and if at that time enough needed new features have been added to v7... maybe an upgrade may be considerd.

Well is says my e-mail and my license are invalid. Now I am wondering if I didn't chose a free promotion at one time instead of installing the free version from official web site.
Am wondering is the Viboot with Hyper-V a VM like VMware that you could test software in?

Not really... it doesn't present a complete System, it only presents the partitions that were imaged. It's more of a "Test for BOOT" function than a real fully participating System with all your goodies attached.

Froggie, your afterthought to BoreDog (above) actually told me all I need to know. Since I hardly ever create backups more frequently than daily, I'll just 'stix with six'.

Having an odd issue with Reflect and thought I'd check in here to see if anyone has experienced something similar.

It's reporting the backup as successfully run in the scheduler, but the log has stopped a while back. Manually running the backup from the scheduled backups list does nothing.

    Any thoughts? Thanks!

Mine is working fine. I assume yours is actually creating the backup files? If so did you double check your settings and make sure logging is still checked?

SSBtech, did you recently (circa early March) upgrade to v7 of Reflect?

Is it possible to edit the PE image? Basically I got an idea to add some elevator music when the PE environment is loaded. But I'm not sure if it's possible to a) edit the PE image, b) output sound in PE environment (drivers?), c) play back a media file (mpv failed), d) autostart it in PE environment. Anyone that knows? =P
Edit: Nevermind, I don't even think there's any audio drivers or services in the PE image, so it'd probably be futile to try setting it up.

Just updated a Laptop from an earlier Win10 Version to the latest version and afterwards did an image. Comparing the size of this image 34gb to yesterday's image prior to the update 13.5 gb, I am wondering about the increase. Did I miss some partition yesterday or is this just all the "roll-back stuff" that win 10 keeps for a few weeks in case you were to revert back without an image?

Did you delete the folder Windows.old?

No, just did my image and then thought it might be related to this particular folder. You are quite right - that folder alone is 24GB. If I remember correctly this will get deleted automatically after some time, doesn't it?

I am not sure since I always clean install my OS. If you don't plan to revert back to your previous Windows, then you can safely delete it and re-make the image. I remember you may need to use Disk cleanup utility and select "Cleanup system files" to remove Windows.old.

Nope. I deleted and recreated the backup definition files and scheduled backups. When I try to run it, the Macrium screen flickers briefly and it once again says "successful" in the scheduled backup list. Nothing in the log and it's not creating a new image file on the destination.

EDIT: I can run the backup from the Backup Definition Files tab in Macrium, but not in the Scheduled Backups section.

I'd probably uninstall it at this point and delete the backup definitions and start over. Sounds like something is corrupt.

That also may be an AV issue (which has been seen along the way)...

Froggie, have you come across any issues between Windows Defender (on W10) and MR?

Personally, no... but I'm only running one test System with W10 Pro on it and that probably isn't a good sampling at all :D

Their Forum had a brief mention of an issue but it wasn't corroborated by any other W10 users.
