    AppSamvid installation manual mention -

AppSamvid works on the mini-filter driver support from Microsoft Windows. Any Windows Operating system that supports mini-filter drivers should be able to support execution of AppSamvid.

    Supported OS 32/64 Bits
Windows 7 ( For all service packs )
    Windows 10 version 1607

I have already seen screenshots on another forum, and it's ugly. Definitely not my cup of tea.

Got mail back with regards to Windows 8. They said they will be releasing a Windows 8 version shortly.

Thanks Infected. That was sure fast of cruelsister to test this one. Looking forward to the next two on it. I wasn't able to install it in Shadow Defender and didn't feel like installing it on my non shadowed system. Maybe I should go back to using VM. I am sure it has come along way since I used it along time ago.
One thing I was not sure of in the video. CS suspended the whitelist to update but didn't see where she turned it back on again. Guessing she did. I guess I am still confused because I would think if those malware files were not whitelisted , they should not have run at all?

Hi Boredog- I used an entirely fresh system for all of the 3 parts. So Part 2 had AS back to default. But a couple of things I didn't note:

1). You will be asked during installation if you want to do a scan of your system. You can decline, but until this baseline scan is done AppSamvid will not monitor anything (disabled mode).
2). Normally there will be only the Service (~1600K) running. You saw two in my video, but the second was from the minimized GUI.
3). It is really good to see a government try to protect its citizens instead of screwing them.

    If I am correct -
If & when you start ASV, tray icon & 2nd process is there & remains...
After system start, if you dont open ASV, tray icon & 2nd process is not there

I tried it, during the install it offered to scan pre-final part of installation with a yes or no option, I checked the yes box and unchecky popped up a "do you want to install a pup" warning, I then said no and continued with the skip scanning..All was fine...Out of curiosity I uninstalled and then installed and selected yes to the unchecky warning however, the scan didn't proceed and I could only continue installation with the no pre-scan option selected:gack:

In short uncheck is happy with the program if you install it without the scan option checked but warns if you select the scan option, as I said these are offered before the final "finished" option.

Let me know if you try install it in Shadow mode and how it went. I never tried it out of Shadow mode. I am trying a few other VM's VMware Player and Virtual and for now I can't connect to the internet with two different Linux distros. Have not tried a Windows OS yet.

I will let you know soon.

Usually I don't bother with installing anything in Shadow Defender unless testing malware because it stops those buggers cold on reboot.
