I was a long time beta tester of Vipre, but they changed hands a couple of times, and I dropped of their beta testing list a couple of years ago.
I was also, back in the Sunbelt days. Have tested the last few versions. Their forum is extremely slow to respond, unlike the old days when they were monitored heavily. Decent products, as of late. I have this beta running presently. I believe its a carryover of the beta they pulled the plug on in October. 2017 Version 10.0.4.1 Beta 4 was a train wreck.
It is a pity that they kind of lost it, i.e. the development faltering, and not advising the registered beta testers when they had betas back on the agenda.
It's sad that you release a beta on Friday, and don't monitor your beta forum all weekend. Got a feeling that some of those who have installed, have already uninstalled because of this. I remember the old sunbelt days, when I believe it was "Nick", was answering questions day and night. 24/7.
boredog can you PM me and we can figure out why the key did not work for you. On our systems the key looks good.
I'm still around and keep an eye on the beta forums when I can but there is actually another similarly named Nicholas Harris who is the person who will generally be helping on the beta forums.
They don't have a attach screen shot function in PM's that I can see so will attach it here. I am on Win insider home latest version. All security software turned off but was trying to run install in Shadow mode. Not sure if that matters.
Edit: in my screen shot on the little popup. I kept clicking the YES button. When I clicked the NO button, see screen shot. Yes I had an internet connection. Firewall turned off.
boredog, Thank you for reporting that issue. Can you remove the key, proceed with the install and add the key by doing the following? https://support.vipreantivirus.com/support/solutions/articles/1000120224-how-to-register-vipre Thanks, Brian
Have you tried a clean install? seemed to be the only way I could get it to install. I also skipped entering a key, and ran it as a trial.
The intrusion and process protection are turned off by default because the average user could potentially block legitimate traffic/processes when they receive technical popups, we found this caused inconveniences for average users. We leave these features in the product for the advanced users to enable at their own discretion.
No problems updating to new , just not using firewall , have it turned off . So far has been trouble free
