Abandonware, lol (joking) but the once mighty king of malware protection is on his knees!

well they definitely have issues, but I am not ready to count them out yet. Even in it's crippled state it does pretty well against real malware.

Well supposedly the next release is around the 26th. What it will fix is another matter.

If the next release is still problematic in annoying ways I'll stick with V2 until EOL and find other solutions, as an example I don't need their antiransomeware solution anyway.

    clubhouse1,

Me too.... not the first time I've stuck with an old version until things got sorted out. If not, then I also will move on to something else. Hope not.

A "preview" build has just been released which purportedly resolves the VSS snapshot build-up in System Volume Information, along with other fixes. I'll wait for confirmation.

    Takers?

Hold off. I had a preview before this one, and there was a problem. Either the problem still exists or it's the same file.

I just downloaded the installer which is named "mb3-setup-consumer-3.0.6.1469 CU3.exe" and the digital signature is dated today, 2-16-2017

Edit: Decided to install, so confirmed that self-protection was OFF and unloaded MBAM from the tray before running the installer. The installation was smooth and did not require a reboot. I confirmed that the component package version is 1.0.69

Yep, I reinstalled and I do have the latest version. The problem I saw in the pre preview they gave me and reported to Becky is still in this version, so I've sent her logs.

I am glad they have finally let us help them. Cool.

Sorry to read that. I installed the "beta" and have not experienced the problem BUT the problem didn't occur all the time.
I have 3 more computers that need to be fixed.

Where did the Protected Applications go?

    MB 3.PNG

Edit: After another restart the Protected Application list is populated again.

I have decided if an app like MBAM causes more problems than I realize benefit from it, I shouldn't have it installed on my pc's. However, I am going to give the "new" version just released a whirl - guess I'm a gambler at heart. Hope it works well.
