Hi Thank you very much for your help. I use the secound Block from you You can check this in the next Version please and give me your Feedback of it With best Regards Mops21
Guys, can I use this to replace my AV? is it like a full AV or is it like MBAM where it finds stuff that an AV misses? Also what does the Premium subscription give me in addition to the Free version?
it is not really a replacement for a regular AV, although you could probably get by without a regular AV, if you wanted to. It does two things: 1 multiple cloud AV (in this way, it is most comparable to QIHOO 360) 2 default/deny, i.e., it works with a whitelist, and denies anything else from running on your system unless you specifically click yes when you get the prompt.
I don't get that, if it's multiple cloud AVs in one, why can it not replace my AV? will windows security tell me that I have no AV even if it's installed? Do you think that it may cause me headaches with having to constantly allow stuff?
Theoretically it has a local AV based on ClamAV which is probably one of the worst AV, but you can disable it or even not to install it. The cloud AV is a kind of VirusTotal but with less AV's. http://i1-news.softpedia-static.com/images/news2/secureaplus-review-489751-5.jpg
I have a 100MBPS connection and the setup took 10 mins and only reached 36%. I ended it and won't bother with this! If the developer of this program reads this, what I experienced is not a very good start, if you cannot provide a proper offline installer, at least have a server that doesn't make one feel that he's on a 56K dial up connection!
Because the cloud AV send files or hash to the cloud then is analyzed and then you get the result so there is a delay and you can run the file get infected and a few seconds later, too late maybe, get the notification about the infected file. On top of that files are checked only on access, usually local AVs scan files also when these are copied or read for example . I would use it as a second opinion av like crystal security which is similar but based on VirusTotal
it downloads very slow, and the initial scan of your system takes many hours (although that doesn't have to worry you). don't use the resident AV, called Clam, it is weak. Use your own AV, if you want one. the cloud AV does not do all the functions that a regular AV will do. The cloud AV does produce a lot of FPs, but you can disable the stupid cloud vendors, and just keep the good ones.
We are pleased to announce the release of SecureAPlus version 4.5.1. In this version, SecureAPlus supports theme. For the starting, you can download "Modern Flat" theme from your SecureAPlus Portal. http://i.imgur.com/c11qxWl.png For more detail of other changes and bugs fixed, please refer to https://www.secureaplus.com/download/release-notes/.
I have been using SAP since the beginning of it's appearance here, at Wilders' forums. I refer to the thread "Turn Off Indexing in Windows for Better Performance", and post # 4 - https://www.wilderssecurity.com/thr...s-for-better-performance.391580/#post-2647867 I have noticed that everything.exe runs in SAP, but I have always wondered about the why, and purpose of it's incorporation in SAP. It doesn't seem to do anything that I can notice functionally, on my Surface Book laptop.
We use Everything.exe to assist Universal AV to search for the file location in case if any file detected as virus.
I just looked in the FAQ for Everything, -http://www.voidtools.com/faq/ ...and, found this particular one: Does "Everything" monitor file system changes? "Yes, "Everything" does monitor file system changes. Your search windows will reflect changes made to the file system." Can I use Everything, that SAP utilizes, to do this? Edit: deleted extra word which I had duplicated.
You can use Everything as a search file tool for Windows. You can use this tool for your personal use if you want to.
Is it accessible through the SAP gui? I guess I am saying that I am little confused as to how to get the best use of this added utility.
SAP does not provide a direct way to access it for the end user. You may install your own copy. Don't worry, it won't conflict with SAP.
Please take a look to this review https://rejzor.wordpress.com/2016/11/27/secureageplus-multi-engine-antivirus-review/ And add this option to disable the whitelisting and make it lighter.
To disable application whitelisting, you can switch it to trust all mode. There is a technical reason why application whitelisting engine cannot be totally disabled. If we allow the engine to be totally disabled, and there is an update happened, for example Windows update, the files that are created will not be trusted. When you enable the engine again, the new files will not be able to run. This will become very critical if the new files are Windows core kernel files. It may cause the Operating System unable to start properly any more.
We have just released SecureAPlus version 4.5.2. There are few bugs fixed and translation update in this version. For the details, please refer to: https://www.secureaplus.com/download/release-notes/
