    Video.UI.exe

You have to copy-paste the file path into AppGuard's browse\explorer window.

    C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.ZuneVideo_10.16112.10221.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Video.UI.exe

The version number mentioned in the path is the same as the File-/Productversions of files in the directory.
If "...\Video.UI.exe\video.ui.exe" has a file-version of: 10.16113.10222.0, you should see 10.16113.10222.0 in the path too.

I'm not sure if the version changes with the minor daily updates - or the version numbering is updated only when a cumulative update for the App occurs.

Basically, we know the version info in the file path is apt to change. So I would use the * wildcard to replace that portion of the file path - so there isn't a need to always update the file path in AppGuard every time the version portion of the file path changes.

@Lockdown I can't add the file path (even using the "*" ). :( Nothing happens if I click "open" to include it in the Guarded Apps list.

This is also similar to Windows Temp folder because Windows won't let me open the folder due to OS restrictions. This is why maybe nothing happens.

Select Browse > Application and then copy-paste the file path.

    * * * * *

When you try to access a folder in Windows\Temp that requires elevated persmissions, then you should get a UAC prompt.

I am able to exclude any file path in Windows\Temp on both my W10 systems - like to one above.

It won't. I guess I just have to allow this user account to access the folder. Let's see...

It just says, after allowing myself access to the folder: "You have been denied permission to access this folder. To gain access to this folder you will need to use the security tab." :(

Yes, adding it with a wildcard is a better choice. No matter what the version is, it stays guarded.
Regarding wildcards, the file-dialog denies adding a path with a wildcard. Or does the user must add a path with a wildcard manually to the appguardpolicy.xml?

You don't have to grant yourself access to the folder. It is a simple copy-paste.

But nothing happens when I click open to include the path in the Guarded Apps list. I think you already experienced this in Heimdal PRO, when nothing happens with it in AppGuard.

Admin rights are needed to go to this folder.
But after copy&paste of the path i was successful and it was added to the Guarded Apps :cautious:

From that screenshot, I had copy-pasted the file path there and clicked Open. That's what I did, but nothing happens, literally nothing.

You don't navigate to the file path, you simply copy-paste the file path

That's what I did, but still nothing happens. I only navigated because I was trying to figure out why I couldn't add it in the Guarded Apps list.

Check the file path that you are pasting:

    C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.ZuneVideo_10.16112.10221.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Video.UI.exe

    hahaha It now works!

The problem was the file path, after all. I copy-pasted what you posted earlier, but what you wrote was wrong. And I just realized it now, after you posted this. :D

To get around Microsoft "Access is Denied" to certain file paths I just JAM Software's UltraSearch. You can right-click on a line item in the search results and then copy the full file path to the clipboard. UltraSearch has the added benefit of being much faster than using Windows Explorer to navigate. All you need to do is input the process name and UltraSearch will bring all the file paths for that process on the system.

I have not run into any problems yet, but I have only been sandboxing Firefox. After I added the sandbox folder to the user-space it was necessary to make the sandbox folder an exception in AG. AG would block Firefox from launching when sandboxed without making the sandbox folder an exception after adding it to the user-space.

I'm just using Sandboxie right now to see what I think about it. I tried it a few times in the past, but did not use it very long before rolling my machine back. AppGuard seems to cover most of what I need in functionality out of Sandboxie.
