    Hello,

Has anyone built a security appliance with Rasberry Pie 3 running Debian Stable (Code name "Jessie") 's grsec kernel? I would appreciate learning about the experience.

I apologize for the typo. Raspberry, NOT rasberry.

    Cheers!

No. But I thought about it ;)

Maybe better would be Banana Pi, or another that has a real gigabit ethernet NIC. The Raspberry Pi has a USB NIC, which shares the USB pipe with the SD card. So its network bandwidth is relatively limited.

    I agree with @mirimir regarding hardware .

I'm not knocking the Raspberry Pi in any way , it is a fantastic bit of kit , but it's overall flexibility and general-purpose design
makes it a less than perfect fit for a project such as this , IMO .

I would want better connectivity built-in from the ground up , and not bolted-on, after the fact .

Please let us know how your project goes :)

This thread touched on Pi type devices being used as routers .
