I tried Macrium uninstall & boot entry was removed too...thats good.

Add boot menu, PE10 selected, rescue drivers...few drivers are there with green check And there is a tab "update drivers", should I update drivers or continue?

As we say here in the States... "Relax, chill... have a 'Rita!"

Take your time... there's a lot to digest when you begin an imaging process, and there's lots of folks here on the Forum waiting to assist you, if needed.

    Nice to know... thanks!
Only if you have a specific needed driver that you know is newer... otherwise that option is not necessary, just CONTINUE.

Personally, I never update hardware drivers ANYWHERE, under any circumstances, unless I am dealing with a failed piece of hardware that needs a new driver to work (unusual circumstance since the hardware must have worked prior to needing any sort of update), or I wish to incorporate some new feature of that hardware that I really need. Most untested driver updates cause way more problems than they are worth, even when certified by their author/manufacturer.

Ok sure I bet you never heard of this problem before then.

Every time I run Macrium Reflect now it leaves around 20 GB used on my Games partition on my 512 GB SSD.

    Why ?

Anyway to prevent this or at least have it delete it after it is done making the image ?

    Thanks.

Max2, pls explain what those 20 gBs are... file type, size, name, anything that will help us understand what you are seeing. Also, are you trying to image your GAMES partition or just your Windows partition when this occurs, and are they both on that 512gB SSD?

Sorry I am on my phone but I will try to explain.

My target device is a 4 TB internal WD Black drive.

I am imaging my C partition that is my OS and Applications partition which is 75 GB and my D drive is 401 GB partition both are part of my 512 GB SSD.

If you want to connect to teamviewer over your computer to mine, when I get back, that would be fine. For me to show you what it does.

    Some general knowledge...

I have used BOOT menu availability for every piece of imaging software I've ever used... as long as it produces a Recovery Media (ISO preferred). No, it hasn't been automatically placed there by the imaging app itself, but ISOs (WinPE or Linux) may easily be placed there using BOOT menu (BCD) management tools (I use EasyBCD v2.3).

No, this is not an "automatic" recovery option like Macrium Reflect offers (automatically selecting a 1-time DEFAULT BOOT option that points to its placed BCD Recovery Media entry and providing an automatic script file to execute once the Recovery Image begins), but it is the availability of having a quick selection and loading of a Recovery Media for use with recovery operations, assuming your BOOT disk hasn't failed or been trashed completely (that's where these BOOT menu images usually reside).

With this capability, any "good, stable & reliable" imaging software may have quick access to its Recovery Media, if needed.

Sorry, YK... not a user. Here's a Wilder's THREAD with a short discussion. You might get better answers over there about this particular product.

Is Workstation better than Home version?

You tried Home or Business version?
You had any probs with it?
Your experience, suggestions, comments, etc... on it?

    Quick question ALL:
I setup a file and folder backup that goes to my USB 3.0 128GB Memory Drive. It mounted as F: when I set this up and saved it as a Reflect .XML file.
IF I run this later and the USB becomes a different drive letter, like G:, will Reflect find the Volume, or do I need to install USBDLM that keeps the same drive letter? We have used this on our XP systems, and USBDLM is supposed to work in Windows 10 Pro, but wondered if I even need it.

    I tried -
    Macrium Home Trial latest
    Aomei Backupper Pro latest
EaseUs Todo Backup Workstation Trial latest

    C partition 48GB/100GB full
D partition data drive 146GB/365GB full

Created "System Backup" saved on D partition

    System Backup (initial full backup)
Macrium - took app 36 mins (backup size app 34GB)
Aomei - took app 26 mins (backup size app 35GB)
EaseUs - took app 25 mins (backup size app 36GB)

Incremental Backup (after full backup completed, I tried 2 incremental backup)
    Macrium
    Incremental 1 - took 2 mins & few secs.
    Incremental 2 - took 1 min & few secs

    Aomei
Incremental 1 - took more than 10 mins
Incremental 2 - took more than 10 mins

    EaseUs (Surprising & Shocking)
    Incremental 1 - app under 20 secs
    Incremental 2 - app under 20 secs
To try, I had scheduled incremental backup every hour. After last incremental backup, when the hourly incremental kicked in, that too completed under 20 secs (during that 1 hour I was just browsing Wilders & Malwaretips forum & nothing much).

I didn't try restore with any.

EaseUs has boot menu option Linux/PE.

There are many reported problems within the Macrium Forums with scheduling set up before the AU update... failed runs, multiple runs, etc. That's been the main areas of problems.

Ahh, problems with scheduling. And the fix is to refresh install Reflect ?
Full & Differential manual complete okay. Have not tried image restore since AU.
Um, is Macrium Forum suggesting proactive refresh install.
    Macrium Reflect Free v6.3.1665
