OK if they're gone from this version and if the product is retested, I'll watch any video on it. The red-herring folder idea seemed kinda inadequate.

  2. Let it mature, the team is skilled enough and they are backed up with sufficient venture capital to come up with something solid.

How did you checked the new release? Were you notified somehow?
See, I have ransomfree Internet blocked.

Changelog. Tried to find it in its program folders and website, no luck.

Not possible. I just clicked the blue button which has the following link:
    Code:
    https://ransomfree.cybereason.com/download/
Edit: You're actually right they reverted to 2.1.0.0

Perhaps v2.1.1.0 has some serious bug, who knows.

I brought this over from Mister X's post.

RawDisk library offers software developers direct access to files, disks and partitions of the disks (hard drives, flash disks etc.) for user-mode applications, bypassing security limitations of Windows® operating systems.

    Now this is indeed scary

Yes. I found a lot of reason here. But as I've said this firm has ex-military staff developing and a lot of resources at their disposal. Why they started with such mediocrity in the first place?

I had the first version installed and got a pop-up an hour ago that a new version was available asking if I wanted to install it.

You're welcome. Just install over existing installation without closing anything, installer handles everything.

Ah! Yes. I looked so n00bish when stating they were gone. Completely forgot to unhide in explorer. :argh:

As I can see they are gone to drop honeypots on every partition.

    Hi Clubhouse

You may be talking about me and you are right, but when I go to a website and they make the claims they make, and I'd find all they data on a 2nd drive gone, I'd be furious. I will decry a flaw like that any time I see something like that. Release a beta and hold of on all the ad claims until the product is proven and that is different.

What improvement. Did you see the post right above yours?

They're adding the honeypots on external drives and their hidden, its in its infancy...I think they should have released it as a beta product and indicate it was open to improvements...NO software is perfect and certainly not on first release, MBAM V3 is proof of that.

it removes the junk when it uninstalls, and it did not leave behind any issues for me.

although the product is far from perfect, it won't hurt to have in running on your system. It should protect from the majority of the most common ransomwares, and it's free.

EDIT: the new version helps for the case that the ransomware starts to encrypt the second drive first, although it won't actually protect that second drive, only the first.
