I have in the last couple of days or so updated my Opera browser to version 42.0.2393.85. Since then I have had issues with VS excessive CPU spiking, every time I open a tab in the browser. I have a Surface Book, and using Microsoft Edge there is no problem.

However, I rarely use Edge because I prefer to use Opera. Why I am concerned is because it is causing the laptop to overheat, i.e. I can hear the cooling fan running, when before I would seldom hear it.

Just opening 5 tabs in the browser, i.e. catching up with the new posts [since l last logged in] in Wilders' forum caused my laptop to go bananas, i.e. overheating badly.

I had to exit VS: it just became to much with the excessive CPU and the overheating. Running much cooler, me that is! ;)

  5. Removed VS from my wife's laptop, because it stopped with an error, I checked and it works ok on my desktop, probably some of the hardening settings prevent it to work. I thought the Windows 7 enterprise laptop had same settings as my Windows 10 Pro desktop, to much work to figure it out, so removed VS from laptop :(

v3.48 isn't working right on my W7 machine. The previous version was fine, but this one tells me I'm not connected to the internet and i cannot get the Shield to show up on the screen.

I had the same problem. Even a full removal of VS followed by a clean install of 3.38 didn't fix it. I reinstalled 3.47 and it works okay. Finally another user with the same problem!

Hey guys, I am just checking in... I really think the next version will be ready in 3-4 days. You guys have posted a couple of bugs... I think I know what most of them are, and they are easy fixes, and these fixes will be included in the next version.

For example, I changed the way VS checks for an internet connection in 3.48, and something is not quite right... so the users who are running 3.47 without issues, this is what is up with that. It should be an easy fix ;).

Sorry I have been away, hopefully it will all be worth it... it almost seems like it is never going to end ;). Thank you guys, talk to you soon!

Edit: BTW, I forgot how difficult it was when building VoodooAi 1.0 to get the algorithms just right... 2 of them are killing it, but one is only at around 95%... but we are getting close ;).

Never used Avast but WinPatrol still has the barking dog I believe.

I like VS as it is, lightweight, excellent, clear graphics and quietly does its job with minimal interference. Keep it up Dan and can't wait for Ai 2.0, sounds as though it will be very accurate. :)

Dan's clearly been preoccupied with Ai 2.0 since it's over five weeks since 3.48 was released. This must be the longest gap between versions for a while - if ever! I'm sure the wait will be worth while though. :)

According to the last post it will be finished soon :)
3.49 with or without AI 2.0, we'll see...

  23. Happy days Dan

I may have a promising contact for VS , so . . .

I beg you please apply clean coding principles by solving problems in old code first, before adding new code :'(

    Regards Kees

Man, I never thought the VoodooAi 2.0 / VoodooAi Cloud implementation and the VS 3.5 refinements were EVER going to end… sorry it took so long. VoodooAi 2.0 is obviously the biggest and most important part of this version, but there were a lot of other bug fixes and refinements as well, but you will not notice hardly any cosmetic changes. I did temporarily disable the progress bar… it was causing a few minor issues, but I will enable it again soon.

I have to tell you guys… with around 10 times the features of the original version, VoodooAi 2.0 seriously turned out amazing and it far exceeded every expectation that I had. So much so, that we might soon have a stand-alone realtime VoodooAi product that will compete directly with the other next gen Ai products… although you know me, I strongly feel that the computer should be locked when it is at risk ;). It would just be nice to have a free Ai option for the people who do not want to lock their computers… although VS’s AutoPilot mode pretty much does this already ;).

Also, the realtime Ai scanner is pretty much ready, I will be activating it soon, along with the new web management console. BTW, the realtime Ai scanner will show the Ai results in Settings / Whitelist for all of the whitelisted items. Hopefully soon VoodooAi will be on the VT engine list and hopefully we will be able to list the blacklist results for each item as well.

So here is the latest version, it seems to be extremely stable. Although there were massive changes, I highly doubt there will be any serious bugs, but if you guys find anything, please let me know and I will fix them very quickly. The goal is to have VS 3.5 completely stable and bug free by the end of the year… we are very close. I think most or all of the bugs that you guys have posted the last couple of months are fixed, but if not, please let me know!

Thank you for all of your help!!! Also, once again, sorry I have been away and have not been too responsive the last couple of months, so thank you for your patients! Hopefully things will return to normal very soon… we are almost there!!!

Happy holidays / Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Hey Kees... very cool, thank you, I appreciate that! Yeah, cleaning up the code was a lot of what I did for this version... the code is in great shape, but I can clean it up a little more over the next week or so. This really should be a very stable version... but I agree, I am not going to add anymore features until we are completely sure that 100% of the bugs are worked out, I think we are close.

Let's talk soon, thanks again! (I hopefully will not be so hard to reach from now on, sorry about that ;)).
