Chrome because : - solid Bug Bounty for security flaws discovery - Appcontainer - ahead on updates others are far behind based on those terms.
1) They got this money selling advertising data about users. Yes, it does seem to work well though. 2) Firejail/sandboxie and AppArmor/whatever windows MAC is. True, chrome has each tab sandboxed... 3) Cant speak for other browsers, but Mozilla is pretty fast on updates. I can cite FAILS on both sides. I think Chrome is pretty sweet overall, and theres no doubt Google's competition spurred on Mozilla to make Firefox much better. But Chrome belongs to Google and who knows what goes on in that non-OSS code. I also dont trust Google to not slip something in there; I think Google did this with Chromium pertaining to the microphone (!), and Chromium is the OSS version! Also, that damn white flash. Its been like 7-8 years with a ton of bug reports, and still users of dark themes (or using Midnight Surfing via Stylish) get blinded with white flashes every time a tab is opened, seeked back/forward, etc.
Appcontainer is a WIn10 feature working as a Sandbox (using low-box token one level tighter than the one used by Sandboxie and other) only for Metro Apps (but Chrome managed to implement it, however it must be enabled manually). i don't know what fancy extensions they use, but i have a black theme and never get any annoyances from it.
Firefox all the way. Because it's faster than Chrome. Firefox has tons of extensions, highly customizable.
My favourite browser this year is Maxthon. I keep going back to it anyway. Firefox would be a close second though, it's almost as fast as Maxthon. Both are far superior to Chrome IMO. I'm guessing Firefox wins this poll, again.
I couldn't care less about this, to me it's more about features, usability and resource usage. You're a brave man, I wouldn't trust them for a second.
To me when talking about browsers, usability is what is all about. Being able to make the browser function as I like it makes me comfortable while using it, that alone makes Firefox my browser of choice. In my computers I dont keep any other browser installed other than Firefox and the one that comes with the PC . Bo
I wouldn't trust Maxthon myself. Firefox has been my browser of choice (or its incarnations like Palemoon) for many years and, although I dislike some of the choices they made recently, the fact that it's open source, the many extensions, the configurability, the bookmarks management, the about:config, all this still makes it the browser of choice; in fact "all this" are the same reasons that made me chose FF in the first place.
I'm a bit surprised about FF - I thought chrome was the more popular browser. I try others, but keep coming back to chrome, for speed, security & reliability. I'm trying the Brave browser- I really like the idea of trying a different ad model. I like the browser, it's still young & a bit buggy. Also trying the latest FF 64, so far very nice!
so prepare to be disappointed by FF, it just started to do what Chrome did since years: multi-tab process low Integrity level. The only thing i see better in FF than Chrome are those fancy addons, like toppings on an ice cream i use FF because of TOR, and honestly i don't see it having much more usability and features than Chrome.
Same with me (Chromium instead Chrome). I've tried others and they were good but Chrome/Chromium is just better for me.
