It's too late, my current system is from a Reflect image from Nov. 1, see screenshot, pre-MBAM v3.
But the screenshot looks like the one while v3 was on the system... but I didn't take a screenshot then

"I can't find such a big file on my system. Try something like WinDirStat or SequoiaView to help pinpoint what's using the space."

do either of these programs work on windows 10?

    thanks

Our original plan was to release a Component Update with fixes for a lot of what you've been seeing. However since then we have detected a few issues around the updating process. We are now working on fixing the updating issues first and foremost before pushing fixes for the remaining issues.

Also FYI regarding the release, the number of beta users wasn't growing and many of these issues you are discovering did not arise during beta, so we made a decision to release since there was very little additional value from extending the beta period. With software you need a large install base to be able to detect some issues that only happen under certain conditions and configurations.

And BTW, auto-upgrades have not been enabled, so the only people getting MB3 are the ones who are downloading manually. Existing users are not being upgraded forcefully.

    Hi Jwcca and boredog

The file(s) I am refering to are from VSS and would be in that SVI folder. They are long names alphabet soup type. jwcca your screen shot shows those files aren't present.

    Hi Boredog

Yep thats them. Ironically the easiest way to get rid them is to download FileASSASSIN from the Malewarebytes site. That will delete them for you .

I just installed SequoiaView and WinDirStat on Windows 10x64 1607 build 14393.479 and they both work perfectly AFAICT :thumb:

I'm pretty sure those are the ones. I unchecked the ransomware protection module, and then exited MBAM. Ran an incremental image w/Macrium Reflect, and freed 10GB on my OS partition.

    Here's before and after...

Not enough beta testers so your decision was to release a half baked product and use the customers as beta testers instead. Nice........

Exactly, I installed it but it caused large delays in startup and shutdown time and also things like VLC took ages to start the first time in a session. I came to the conclusion that I was beta testing this and the actual "beta" period was far too short. I may revisit it in six months.

I am happy with the situation. I have been a paid uses of adguard for some years now but still always use their beta version.
as far as I am concerned this program has been offered free for many years just as the worthless AVG was but the difference is this program actually works. and so I am giving them the big benefit of the doubt

Thanks for your feedback. Anybody unhappy with the product can contact me directly for a full refund and I'll get them a competitor's product on my dime, their choice.

MBAM has served me and my family, who I recommend the program to when lifelong keys were still available, well over the years. I also appreciate people from the company being active in the forms, similar to Avast, etc... But I admit I was a bit surprised to see MBAM 3 go final. I tried the first 2-3 betas and they used a lot of resources, and really slow things down for me. I have not tried the final build yet, and from what others have said, I was probably smart to hold off. And to be honest, I actually felt MBAM 2 was a bit heavy.

There is probably a much larger market when offering a standalone, all encompassing product, but you can't rush to get there.

I have MB3 running on two computers now and not had any big problems. I did have update freeze on me once. Most of the major issues will, likely, be fixed at the next release so people just need to be patient. For those who think the beta was short, lets remember that MBAM1 and MBAM2 codes have been out a long time, and there have been separate beta programmes for MBAR and MBAE. I am running firefox with MBAE component preventing it being exploited and it is inside Sandboxie - I think the two complement each other very well in terms of the protection offered.

One more to test Malwarebytes 3.0.

    No problems here with EIS+AppGuard+AdGuard.

Next days i will test with WAR, SpyShelter and ZemanaAM.
