2TB internal drive , should i convert to GPT?

    hi
    i have a new drive of 2TB wester digital , hard disk , no ssd , should i comvert in GPT ?
    i have copied data yesterday

    i use mostly for data , i haven't an operation system

    maybe in the future i could install an operation system like a linux distro

    Mantra, unless you plan for more than 4-Primary partitions on that drive, .. MBR is just fine. Either will work just fine, though.

    can BootIt Bare Metal Bimb or paragan convert to GPT and vice versa?

    I don't use either... I use Minitool's PARTITION WIZARD which does it without issue.

    If your drive already has data on it, the conversion will not allow an OS installation at a later date unless the drive is freshly formatted at the time of your conversion. This is due to the fact that an OS installation needs a SYSTEM (or EFI) partition to go along with an UEFI installation of the operating system. MBR installations of the OS will not be a problem.
