NEW: Emsisoft Emergency Kit 12 – Dual-engine tools for double the cleaning http://blog.emsisoft.com/2016/12/01...it-dual-engine-tools-for-double-the-cleaning/
I should have waited then. Oh well. Btw I really like EEK as a secondary scanner. It's awesome. And hardly anyone besides a few know about EEK. Besides here at Wilders of course. Where can I find the exact version you know 12.xxxx?
My shows 12.0.0.6971. It took me some time to find it - you have to click on button with FB, Twitter, YT icons but not directly on any icon. It's not obvious...
TY! When I want to rerun EEK after closing it. I have to disable the Emsisoft process a2emergencykit.exe in Task Manager 1st. Anyone else? W7P64 here.

I also use it on Windows 7 x64 and don't have this happening. After I close it, process ends and I can run it again with no problem.
IDK, you can try disabling any other security software if you have it running. You can also try deleting an app and re-downloading latest version.
FIXED IT! Thanks to Tim Tibbots @ MajorGeeks & Nirsoft. Video: Fixing Windows Explorer Crashes in Windows http://www.majorgeeks.com/news/story/video_fixing_windows_explorer_crashes_in_windows.html
After update to 2017.2 update process is much longer. Download speed is the same but installing phase is much much slower. Maybe it's connected to this change:
http://changeblog.emsisoft.com/2017/07/03/emsisoft-emergency-kit-2017-6-released/ Unfortunately, offer for real-time protection (I guess that's new feature) is displayed each time EEK is closed:
Did one more test - this message is displayed even when another real-time AV is installed. Some vendors might not be happy with wording in this message: "Mediocre security solutions..."
Whoa, classy Emsisoft could do better than this. "Phew, all clean" doesn't appeal to me either. At least "awesome" doesn't factor in there somewhere.
It's a marketing tactic--twang!. I wonder which "mediocre product" Emsi had in mind. But OK, whatever.
I do not pay any attention to it, they all do this in one way or another. EEK is an excellent portable free tool.
Wow, I didn't expect that. Specially since no threats were found. And EEK uses BDs signatures as mekelek posted.
