Hopefully, someday, all AV companies will release software versions for Windows 10. :D

Microsoft, there is still room for improvement.

Not many seem to use F-Secure here, but always good and working great here.

And not just F-Secure, quite a number of them are trigger happy...

It's one of the few you can't buy for a discount. When I can get the big names for 75% off of full retail, this doesn't stand a chance.

My ISP offers a 3 device license for a very good discount but I do debate whether it's worth it given competing products are also available at similar or cheaper rates.

F-Secure has a perpetual beta program, which gives you release level features in packages they're either testing or messing around with. For example, "FS Protection" is a beta that gives you licenses for 10 computers that one PC can centrally manage. Think of it as commercial level support for families. The AV itself is release level, but the central management is beta.

As Firecat mentioned, a LOT of ISPs and Banks give the software out for free.

I agree with you that if it's not discounted, it won't stand a chance with most people, though.

Because they don't pay to get tested. Same as any other company not represented.

I can get a rebrand of fsecure safe form my isp as well ( for free ) , but I do not like at all. especially after seeing cruelsisters tests with this product against ransomware , it got a 100% protection score from independant testing labs , but her test shows a different truth all together :)

  15. Not using an AV, so not closely monitoring the tests from AV-Test and AV-Comparatives, I get the impression that AVG is improving. Is that correct?

Yes, it has been doing very well lately in testing. Also it's very light.

  22. I noticed that Avast Online Security extension was changed on 16 november. I don't know for sure, but I think the image in the Chrome store was changed. So maybe URL blocklists are already shared with this new version?

Have you looked at other tests, it really shines against ransomware in the ones i have seen. No big deal though and use whats best for you.

Her tests of anything make me not want to use a computer anymore. Virtualization is about the only way to stay safe. I live in fear every day that someone at work is going to infect the network with some kind of ransomware. I have offline backups, but it would still take days to recover. I don't trust ANY AV against ransomware.
